What I’m doing with my life

I am in my first year of MSW pursuit. Until now, I've enjoyed playing Ultimate Frisbee, spending time with friends, reading for pleasure, getting creative, and riding my bike. Currently, I spend a lot of time reading, thinking, writing and arguing about social injustice and managing people's problems. When I do get a chance, I pick up a frisbee, cook dinner, explore the city with new and newly re-connected friends, and try to figure out how to get around this crazy town on my bike.

Problem solving, hugging, making people laugh when they are crying, whipping things up in the kitchen, procrastinating productively.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'd like them to notice my smile, but maybe some people are really into shoes or auras or whatnot. Many people comment on my dark hair.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I love food, and am discovering a new love for spicy (to me) foods. I really dig eating with my hands, so middle eastern, ethiopian, yemenite, indian are all fun. Sometimes I'm just in the mood for an american favorite with a twist like a turkey cheeseburger or a grilled cheese with something funky on it. I also like to cook these things and then eat them. I love breakfast. As for books, I love quirky but not crazy like Tom Robbins, The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close... same for movies- The Usual Suspects, Little Miss Sunshine, Lars and the Real Girl. I like all music as long as its really music...

The six things I could never do without

My Bike- I learned the hard way. Cleats, friends, Jon Stewart, my sense of humor, my family.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Social Injustice, other people's problems, and what I'm going to have for my next meal.

On a typical Friday night I am

Happy hour, dinner with friends, house party or casual hangout. In Judaism, Friday is a day of rest and sometimes I like to honor that in spirit.
