My self-summary Propose an edit
Well what can I say about myself here? I'm intelligent and funny. I
like to laugh at life and at myself. I try not to take most things
too seriously, because I've been through serious things that have
changed my perspective on the little things.
I was (keyword: WAS, as in, PAST TENSE) married for 7 years, and
while it didn't work out for a variety of reasons, my ex husband is
one of my best friends and will most likely remain a part of my
life forever. There's not a snowball's chance in a very warm place
of my relationship with him changing to become anything other than
a close friendship though, so worry not.
I don't fit neatly into any major stereotypes. Sometimes I wish I
did. It'd be easier to describe myself. I'm intelligent, but I
don't really like to read. I'm feminine and like to shop for
clothes and shoes, but I spend a lot of my leisure time playing
video games and playing on the internet. I'm shy and hermit-like,
but I have a really sunny disposition and can't stop smiling and
laughing if you can actually haul me out of my living room. I've
never done an illegal drug and I quit smoking finally, but I eat
the most unhealthy garbage imaginable and have no plans to change
that. I'm a pretty girly-girl on the whole (except for the
electronics obsession) but all my closest friends are men. Figure
that one out. Then explain it to me, cause I can't make sense of
it.
I love music. I'm kind of a hard-rock-heavy-metal geek, and I'm
especially a sucker for 80's hair metal. My favorite band is Def
Leppard, but if you have a really good Rick Allen joke, don't be
afraid to share it. I might roll my eyes and whine, but I secretly
appreciate a good "but their drummer only has one arm"
reference.
I also watch more TV than I probably should, especially given that
I work full-time AND I'm a full-time student too. My current
favorite shows are Heroes, House, Lost, and Terminator: The Sarah
Connor Chronicles.
I have two cats. I like them usually. Not when they're meowing
while I'm trying to sleep or rolling all over my clothes before
I've had a chance to put them on yet though. I have quite
unfavorable things to say about them then.
Well I think I've said enough for now. If I seem interesting and
you want to know more, feel free to ask. I have various witty
remarks to make and no audience is too large or small!
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I work full-time at a semi-boring job that somehow manages to
continue to capture my attention. In my free time, I probably spend
too much time playing on the internet, playing video games, and
watching TV... But that's what us geeks do!
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Ugh, sadly, "answering questions like this" is not something I'd
list among my fortes. I'm going to say I'm really good at
overanalyzing things. Wait, that's a bad quality. Crud.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
My hair, which is really long. About waist-length at the moment,
though sometimes I trim it up a few inches shorter. They also
notice my chest. I can't really blame them for that. And my height.
Oh, and my braces. Those are new. I've only had them for a month or
so. They're supposed to help me avoid having to have jaw surgery
for my TMJ in 20 or 30 years. We'll see if that actually works or
not, but if there's the slightest chance, it's worth it.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
Can I talk about my favorite TV shows instead? I'm going to anyway.
I don't care. I'm THAT much of a rebel! HELL YEAH! ...OK so that's
probably not very rebellious. Well anyway, favorite TV shows:
House, Heroes, Lost. Yes, apparently I go for network
shows with one-word names. Who knew?
As movies go, I know it's INCREDIBLY cheesy, but The Princess Bride is
one of my all-time favorites. I've also basically memorized every
movie Kevin
Smith has ever made, and, like any self-respecting geek, I love
Star Trek and
Star Wars. I
generally prefer sci-fi and comedy, but there is SOME movie in
nearly every genre that I love. I also love a good cheesy girly
movie.
I don't read much. It's not that I'm dumb. It's just that letting
somebody else put the characters on a screen for me so I can watch
them dance around in pretty colors is so much more fascinating to
me. OK, that makes me sound dumb. Fine. Whatever. I'm too dumb to
read. That's fine. Message me anyway. I'll try to decipher whatever
it was you were trying to say through osmosis.
Food-wise, I'm a bona fide meat-eater and proud of it! I like just
about everything. The only two foods I refuse to eat are mushrooms
and tomatoes. Tomatoes are only good for mashing up to turn into
ketchup, spaghetti sauce, or soup. Mushrooms are fungus. They are
not for human consumption. This is why we are at the top of the
food chain. We do not need to eat slime either. There is nothing
good about mushrooms. They are gross. Anyway, mushrooms
notwithstanding, I do like just about everything else, but I'm
particularly fond of Mexican food and Chinese food.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
1. The internet. Thank you, Al Gore, for inventing a method for me
to while away countless hours and occasionally do something
useful.
2. Heels (even though I'm 5'10" barefoot)
3. Diet Pepsi. I actually prefer Diet Pepsi Max, but I know it's
just a matter of time til that gets taken off the market.
4. HDTV. How exactly did I live without it for so long? It has
better resolution than outside! (bonus points to anyone who can
identify that reference)
5. My cell phone. It tells me things. Things like peoples' phone
numbers and what time it is and when I set it to remind me of
stuff, it reminds me of stuff.
6. Soft pretzels. I really didn't want to list two different food
products here for fear of being labeled a glutton, but seriously,
I'm pretty sure I would die without soft pretzels. Well, maybe not
die literally. But I'm not sure that I"d find life worth living
anymore.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Whether to give a funny answer or an honest answer to this
question. OK, I gave funny answers to the last couple, so I'll do
this one a solid. I spend a lot of time thinking about my future,
the direction in which I want my life to move, and what steps I
need to take to make it happen. We only get one chance at this
crazy little experiment called life. I've done enough screwing off
and drifting around. It's time for me to be serious and take
control of things finally. That's why I recently started going back
to school. My end goal is to pursue my dream job in public
relations, which I pooh-poohed the idea of in the past because I
was harboring the belief that I was anchored to the life I'd
created for myself up to that point. Man, that was insane. We're
all masters of our own destiny. The door is in front of you. All
you have to do is... Open it.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
That varies. Sometimes I can be found at karaoke with my friends. Other times, I
can be found plopped in front of the TV trying to make my brain
forget that it just worked for 5 straight days.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I left out one of my favorite TV shows. On purpose. Because it's
Degrassi: The Next
Generation. I'm WAY too old to be watching a Canadian
high-school melodrama... But I CAN'T STOP!
