My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Entering my third year here in LA...moved from the Bay what now seems long ago to a land I grew up hating on and now secretly admit to liking (but don't tell anyone up North...).

I am a warm loving woman who loves to travel (i've lived in Israel and Mexico), am blessed with incredible friends and believe in the power of education. I love hiking, exploring great restaurants and wine bars, the Bay air, being silly and serious, intense political conversations followed by releasing good dumb fun reality tv shows...Most of all, looking for people who are real, grounded, and want to adventure.

I am loving, expressive, and tend to tell it like it is.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working full time in as a coach for principals and teachers in LAUSD AND going to school full time getting my doctorate at UCLA.... but there is always room for a glass of wine and some time or other I'd love to actually get to know LA!

Got certified two summers ago in Spain as a yoga teacher so I'm loving the yoga scene here and getting to know myself every day a new way on the mat.

Basically-I'd love a study break and if you offer a promising exhale of laughter and energy, I'm there.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Throwing together last minute dinners, working with teenagers, Taboo, flexible yoga positions, being family, being addicted to coffee, loving, sarcasm, thinking creatively, and doing way too much all the time.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Laughter, positive energy, and eyes and lips :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

The Economist, A Splendid Thousand Suns, Bernard Henri-Levi, Delpit, Neruda, Etgar Keret, Studs Terkel, Anzaldua, Audre Lorde, the NYT, Huff Post, education blogs, articles about emotional wellness, positive psychology, and disenfranchised grief in schools (ok, the last couple are more for school...)

Hammocks, strong Peets coffee, the sound of the New York Times landing on the steps Sunday morning, the feeling of my body after yoga, the smell of just cut grass, how San Francisco looks after a good rain, fall leaves, the smell of challah in the oven...

City Lights bookstore...Marin Headlands (or anywhere with redwood trees)...Grabbing a brew and watching the sun go down...Firewood pizzerias...Farmer's Markets...Zacatecas in Mexico...the North of Israel...Crissy fields walks...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-My family and the abundant deep friendships in my life
-Laughter
-Really, really good food.
-When I find myself smiling unknowingly
-Earrings
-Moments of pause & grounding
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-means to the ends and ends to the means
-My friends and family
-To-do lists
-Education inequities
-How to be conscious of life's blessings---the balance between being present and being driven in my vision of the future
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
-wherever I need to be to come down from the week: a bar, Shabbat dinner, with friends, curled up to a movie, or (nowadays) getting my shit together for grad school.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can't burp. True story.
