My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"I want freedom, the right to self-expression, everybody's right to beautiful, radiant things." -Emma Goldman

I am deeply in love with my life & the mysteries of this crazy-gorgeous world; fascinated by collective legacies and cultural histories, movements, native wisdom, and the plight of all beings.

NY+Cali= A city-girl whose higher-power is the natural world and magic, ride-or-die free bird. I'm unafraid of the struggle & riding our the ebb 'n flow of life's ups-n-downs. Always been a grounded spirit, loyal lover, excitable social butterfly. Crave meaningful intimacy in love, friendship, family (how I survive / thrive). "She's got everything she needs, she's an artist, she don't look back" (Bob Dylan sings my truth!). I am HAPPY! :0) grounded & content, not in need of anyone/thing, and I love love, love to love, love being loved. Karma rules my decisions & intentions; I put beauty, love & trust out there and hope to get it in return.

Traveled 31 countries, most w/ my sis (also a teacher). Highlights: Israel, Vietnam, Cuba, Mexico, Spain, Estonia, New Zealand, Nicaragua; up next: India, Italy, Greece, Canada, Bhutan, Brazil, Indo/Bali.

Straight-up low-down: I'm open only to WHOLE beings, GROWN folks not seeking external happiness, not deeply damaged, jaded about life/love, avoiding loneliness, confused about who they are/what they want. Sharing/reflecting light is KEY; as a radiant being who attracts those seeking shiny objects, I want bright lights to CHALLENGE me to my core, illuminate this oft-dark world, to build & create with, who sparks me to GROW.

I don't plan on finding anyone using this site, it's an experiment to see how people respond to the idea of HIGHER QUALITY/INTENTIONAL PROCESSES of meeting enlightened souls/new beings to bond with, to share sacred, limited free-time.

Young in body w/ an old soul, I know what I like, want, deserve. Seeking to balance of easy, pheromoneal, animalistic lust with "this makes sense on paper." Well-educated (Master's in Teaching in Urban Education & Social Justice), independent, fast-talkin' broad raised by New Yorkers; not for the thin-skinned or faint of heart; Chock-full of opinions, principles & advice. Avoider of drunks/bar scenes, frat boys, TV junkies, shop-o-holics, materialism. But then again, "trying to define yourself is like trying to bite your own teeth." -A. Watts
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Hustlin' to make social change via youth in my class & the community. Middle (Charter) school teacher. I work hard & play hard to enrich the activated souls around me to be progressive agents of justice for themselves & others. Huey Newton said, "The walls, the bars, the guns & the guards can NEVER encircle of hold down the idea of the people. And the people must always carry forward the idea which is their dignity and their beauty."

IN LOVE with my career. Education is my passion & purpose. I get to have fun, be silly, learn & influence youth daily (& work just 180 days per year). My happy place? In transit, w/ a backpack, coconut water, camera & a vision. Turn-ons: men who work with youth, activism, art shows, community actions, live music, cooking, beach getaways, hiking, farmer's markets.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
• Manifesting beautiful things •  Explorations of the unknown •  Maintaining authentic human & artistic connections •  Making & curating art, photography • Cooking/eating :) •  Generosity of spirit • Tarot •  Anarcho-Feminist musings/action •  "We artists are indestructible; even in a prison or in a concentration camp, I would be almighty in my own world of art, even if I had to paint my pictures with my wet tongue on the dusty floor of my cell." - Picasso
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Long, colorful hair. Dimples. Nerd-cred glasses. Loving energy. Good vibes, confidence (raised by New Yorkers/Cali-grown). Taboo conversation ("When you bite your tongue all you get is a mouth-full of blood"). • "Our deepest fear is not that we're inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we're powerful beyond measure. It's our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world." -M.W.

("Walk tall, kick ass, learn to speak Arabic, love music and never forget you come from a long line of truth seekers, lovers and warriors." -H. Thompson). MUSICA: Jazz (Rahsan Roland Kirk, Mingus, Coltrane) - Cuban/Salsa (Ibrahim Ferrer, Buena Vista Social Club) -- Soul/funk (Cee-lo Green/Gnarles Barkley, P-funk) -- Hip-hop, political poetry (The Fugees, Outkast, Dead Prez, Immortal Technique, K'naan) -- Indie Rock (Little Dragon, Elliott Smith, Neutral Milk Hotel) -- Folk (Ani DiFranco, Bob Dylan) -- Metal/Rock (TOOL, Soulfly, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin). The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Moonlight / belly-laughs / Comfy bed, pillows / Organic, local food / Sunny beach days / Ramblin' / My eyesight, legs / Live music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
HAPPINESS. Compassion. Spiritual fitness. Wholeness, sustainability. Youth empowerment. FREEDOM for ALL Political Prisoners, prison abolition, radical politics. How to 'Get free'. How to collaborate with other life-lovers, dreamers, poets, deep thinkers, community organizers... "Radical simply means grasping things at the root." -Angela Davis. "I put the great mother nature on a pedestal. she always fly, but today, she's exceptional- If I had a chance to make a wish, every day would be just like this, full of happiness." -Dead Prez
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Decompressing from an exhausting/exhilarating teaching week. Saturdays: for exploring, hiking, live music, art events (Oakland Art Murmur). Hosting/attending house parties, sleepin-in, cooking brunch (<3 BACON), movie nights, bike rides, stargazing, gettin into trouble. Proud to say I own a sweet home w/ my sis.

I'm on OKC. I enjoy public transportation. Although I've been to 28+ countries, I've still never visited Oregon, Washington or Canada.
