My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm not a fan of "holding back" so I've laid my cards out in this profile and in my questions and answers. If you love it when you've read through, message me! I don't expect anyone to read "all" of it - this summary and the "You should message me" section provide more than enough info! It was pretty fun filling it all out though, so I got slightly carried away with it. :)

Let's rock!

I'm Michael. I have a brother named "Mike." Weird huh? Well, now that the ice is broken. If you hang out with me and don't laugh, you probably had a frontal lobotomy. I'll make a fool of myself for a laugh. I'm a bit of a comedian. Think George Carlin meets Louis CK. I've got a biting wit and a sarcastic sense of humor. Yet, I'm a pretty good guy; some even say I'm charming, but then again people say a lot of things when they've been drinking.

I sing in my car, I sing in the shower, I sing when I get a parking ticket. I love music, and I like it loud (Don't worry I can always turn it down). I write and perform music as well. I enjoy it because it gives me an outlet to express the things I know inside but just can't find the words to say. That isn't to say I can't come up with great lyrics, but the music leads me to them.

Autumn is my favorite season, and Halloween my favorite day! Kids dressing up and begging for candy? Come on, that's total win right there. I remember it as a kid and I loved trick or treating. I'm the only one of my friends who has perfect teeth. Not a single cavity! No one is really surprised though. As a kid I rarely ate my candy after arriving home. I'd pour it out onto the living room carpet and search for the razor blades. My older brothers were dicks, but I guess they did me a favor by scaring the shit out of me! Perfect teeth!

I'm not all jokes though. I have a serious side too. As a kid, and as an adult, I'm actually pretty introverted. When I socialize I can be very engaged, but afterwards I often need a lot of time for quiet contemplation. I rarely even send messages on OK unless I'm certain the person is a match. I simply don't have the energy to be frivalous with relationships. They're important to me. I'm the type that my inner world is completely different from what I present. From the observation of someone who doesn't know me, I can sometimes appear detached on the outside, and can come across as cold - but the truth of the matter is that I empathize strongly when I see suffering and it's so overwhelming that I do need to wear that facade in order to accomplish whatever goal needs to be taken care of. Sometimes I carry that facade even after the event has passed. I counsel and advocate for people with chronic illnesses, as one example. Some of them have died. For every hundred victories I have in protecting someone, or saving a life - I'm tortured by the one I couldn't help. I need time to cope and process things in my world.

The truth is, I'm all shades of gray to the color blind, but if you're patient, and value depth, you'll find I'm amazingly colorful!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I study medicine, applied mathematics, finance/investments and Psychology in my spare time. I read a lot in general, at least 3-6 hrs every single day. You can't be a smart ass without the smart part, and that requires an endless supply of knowledge. Don't feel intimidated though. I'm easy to talk to. I'm pretty spiritual as well, and love studying all sorts of beliefs and philosophies. I'm most fascinated by Christianity, but I'm never dogmatic about faith. If I'm not working [I'm an investor & security analyst] or studying, then I'm doing some fitness type thing, or doing something enjoyable like spending time with family, working on my car, playing Xbox: typical guy stuff.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being a pain in the ass, listening and giving advice when asked, taking my own advice and being flexible when circumstances aren't. Doesn't that sound so awesome? Yeah, I thought so too when I wrote it. Who the hell takes their own advice? I don't know about you, but it's a work in progress for me! I'm a pretty good writer. Making people laugh comes easily. People seem to feel good around me. I'm really good at challenging people and getting people to open up. People seem to unload guilt and feelings that burden them. So in that sense, I guess I'm good at helping people find relief and peace. I'm also an autodidact. I self learn instinctively, so people rarely find me boring during discussions. I'm the "know it all" that you don't hate for being a know it all. I actually want others to be empowered by what I know.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well physically I suppose they notice my eyes and huge cheeks when I smile. Personality? Ever seen the show Supernatural and How I Met Your Mother? People say I'm a lot like the character Dean and Ted combined. Mostly Dean. Dean Winchester! Funny guy.

I've literally read thousands of books, but these are some of the most memorable ones. Oh, and yes I read every single Harry Potter book. I had no choice. I had to see what was so great about it. I have to admit, I liked it a lot.

Games: I love playing Xbox 360 and killing zombies. Left 4 Dead is the game I play most. I like other games too, like board games, card games - pretty much anything!

Movies: Netflix/Xbox is cool too, if you enjoy movies or games. I like Drama, Action and Comedy but I love Horror and Supernatural too. Anything with zombies rocks.

Music: Mostly Rock and Alternative. Switchfoot, The Verve Pipe, Foo Fighters, Gin Blossoms, DMB, Third Eye Blind. Pink Floyd, Matchbox Twenty, Queen, U2, Paramore, 19 Wheels, Tonic, etc.

Shows: The Walking Dead, House, Dexter, Californication, Weeds, Medium, Rescue Me, Rules Of Engagement, New Girl, Awake, Battlestar Galactica, Shameless, How I Met Your Mother, 24, A Gifted Man, Supernatural, The Big C, Lie To Me, Family Guy, Homeland, Masters Of Sex, Almost Human, American Dad, Ray Donavan, Arrow, Cosmos, Drop Dead Diva, Justified,

Food: Love food in general: Mexican, Italian, Indian, Chinese, etc.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family, Friends, Love, Hope, Sleep, Food, Mitochondria, Kidneys. Lungs, Internet, My Acoustic Guitar, Creativity, a Spinal Cord? I couldn't stop at 6, my bad.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My father passed recently, and it was unexpected. So I've been thinking a lot about him, it's been painful, and I miss him a lot. I have some really great memories to carry with me though. Beyond that, I think about the future. I think about my health, relationships, career, and education too. I work hard to proactively pursue these things and find solutions to adversity! Accomplishing goals makes me feel grounded. I deal with a health condition so I'm constantly working on my recovery. Everyday I'm working to solve the mystery and regain my health. Sure I stare up at the stars and fantasize about knowing all the secrets of the universe (doesn't everyone?). I wonder what my future-better half is up to, what my future self will be doing in the years to come. I think about how complicated and how different people are from each other, as well as how similar!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I covered Wish You Were Here on [05-25-2014] at the request of Skype Guitar Sessions and figured you guys might like it. Let me know what you think! The second video was recorded in 2007.

If I'm not writing/performing music, then I'm watching a movies, playing a game, spending time with friends. Sometimes I just hang out with Chief and Micho. Sometimes I stand outside on the top deck pondering how technically (and factually) when you look up at the stars or at another person - the universe, through your eyes is seeing itself. Whoa, totally Zen. I prefer low profile and simple pleasures basically.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tend to use this section to write updates on thoughts I'm feeling - private thoughts to most - that I am willing to share.

I finally decided to find out what this Myers-Briggs testing was all about. I was curious If you're into the "Types" testing, here is mine:

Myers-Briggs type INFJ
My match is an INFP or ENTP.

I'm also compatible with ENFJ, INTP apparently.

Only 0.5% of the male population has an INFJ Personality Type, making it the most rare of all the types.

INFJs are gentle, genuinely warm, caring, deep, complex and highly intuitive individuals. Artistic and creative, they excel in art and often the sciences. They are extremely gifted in ways that other types aren't. INFJ is a natural nurturer; patient, devoted and protective. INFJs place great importance on having things orderly and systematic in their outer world. INFJs are protective of their inner selves, sharing only what they choose to share when they choose to share it. Children of an INFJ get devoted and sincere parental guidance, combined with deep caring. Romantic partners get devotion, communication, protection, and understanding. INFJs are rarely at complete peace with themselves. They believe in constant growth, and don't often take time to revel in their accomplishments. They have strong value systems, and need to live their lives in accordance with what they feel is right. This rare type are also holistic visionaries, They are oriented towards contemplation much of the time.

They are amongst the types with the highest average IQ and often feel alone in the company of strangers. Although shy, like a great actor, they can literally choose to become whatever role is required to serve a purpose. They often feel "different", because they are. INFJ's are unique, with some of the worlds most significant figures past and present having this personality type: including Jesus Christ, Plato, Sir Stephen Hawking, Mother Theresa, Carl Jung, Noam Chomsky, President Jimmy Carter, Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Jefferson, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Eleanor Roosevelt, Sigmund Freud. J.R. Tolkien, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Nelson Mandela (among many more). In popular media, they shine as actors.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you've read this far then awesomeness. We are off to a great start. Now we get to the really good stuff. You should message me If you enjoyed my profile, and you're ready to meet a good guy.

These are some qualities I'm looking for. I'm not looking for perfection, I'm looking for integrity, and someone who cares about others and is passionate about her convictions. I'm looking for someone who is honest, silly, quirky, funny, devoted, free spirited.

The woman I'm looking for enjoys conversations. She likes learning and listening to someone like me sharing all sorts of ideas for hours, and she has her opinions about it all! I'm looking for a woman who is progressive in her thinking. She has a way of getting me to try new things that I don't want to do - and yet manages to make me love it in the end. She's gentle and understanding. She's intuitive, compassionate and empathetic as well.

If you're this woman, message me.

Read some of my questions, ask me about them. It'll give us plenty to talk about. Check out the tests too while you're at it! Rate me if you like! :)
