My self-summary
Writing about yourself is the pits, so I'm going to imagine one of my friends or family members describing me. Ready? Here we go.

"Oh, him? He's great. Funny, smart, passionate, creative, caring, nice, fun to hang out with. He can be pretty serious and hard to figure out sometimes, but it makes him interesting. I like him... he's a righteous dude."

Man, I've gotta find out who said all that and buy them a beer. That's good shit.

I'm the youngest of 5, and aside from studying abroad in Rome during my senior year of architecture school, I've always called Washington and the MD suburbs home. My family (including 11 awesome nieces and nephews) is all still in the DC Metro area, and while I don't talk to or see them incessantly, they are super important to me and I'd do anything for any of them at the drop of a hat.

Want to know more? Message me, I dare you.
What I’m doing with my life
Residential architectural designer by day. Occasional freelance photographer, graphic designer, hockey, tennis and soccer player, drinker, walker/wanderer, live-music-goer, camper and general outdoors-enjoyer by night and weekend.

Also, I did this in the Fall:
I’m really good at
Whistling, thinking, appreciating and finding humor in serious situations.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my beard. I've also been told on more than a few occasions that I have nice legs, so maybe those.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I don't read as much as I want to (as far as books go), but two favorites that immediately come to mind are Rule of the Bone and Into the Wild.

Big Wes Anderson fan and typically like movies that are a bit more creative and thought-provoking, though I'm not above a fantastically immature comedy. Some semi-recent favorites include Django Unchained, Wolf of Wall Street and This Is The End. Growing up I would watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Stand By Me, The Goonies and Top Secret! on VHS like it was my job.

I try to watch Jeopardy! every night. I loved Seinfeld and thought 30 Rock was damn near brilliant at times. As far as current shows, I only keep up with a few (Parks & Rec, New Girl, Modern Family, Parenthood, Workaholics, Broad City).

I'll listen to most anything, save for country, R&B and new(er) rap/hip-hop. My Pandora stations include Van Morrison, Sublime, Mumford & Sons, Gorillaz, Bob Marley, The Smiths, Jack Johnson, The Killers, Air, Sigur Ros, John Williams (of movie score fame), A Tribe Called Quest, Damien Rice, Keane, Dead Can Dance and The Shins.

I'm not the most creative eater and would love for that to change. I am open to most things, save for one - I absolutely despise broccoli. Seriously, it's the worst.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whether or not the match percentages on here mean a damn thing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Equally comfortable having a casual drink or two, getting shit-faced, seeing a band, getting away, laying low, watching a movie or terrible TV (as long as it's not something like those Real Housewives - seriously, that's why the terrorists hate us). The only thing I'm not big on is club-going or being in a stuffy bar, spending a ton of money on specialty cocktails... I'd much prefer a gin & tonic or a pint at a laid back pub.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wear black socks almost exclusively. Yes, I am aware that is neither interesting nor terribly private. I'll tell you private things, just not here. We don't even know each other... sheesh.
I’m looking for

  • Ages 27–36
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You're interested in grabbing a pint or a cup of coffee. You've got something profound to say and nobody to say it to. You like a man with a quirky personality and a good sense of humor, but also a capacity to be serious and philosophical if the situation warrants. You're psyched that Spring has finally arrived and you'd like to wander around the city and pop in to museums.
