"My Self-Summary Haiku"

I enjoy meeting
new people, books, the outdoors,
and learning new things.

Ok, so it's no Basho, but I'm trying to be creative here.

Marcel's Weekly List of Stuff to Do in Absolutely No Order Whatsoever.

I don't know if I'm writing about all the things that I'm really good at, or writing about all the things that I really enjoy doing...either way, here's a list that encapsulates both:

I'm great at explaining grammatical concepts and analyzing literature.
I'm good with machines, and I love riding motorcycles (don't have a working one at the moment, but I will ride again!).
I'm good at speaking Spanish (I'm Argentine).
I'm pretty handy in the kitchen, and I'm good at following a recipe.
Undoubtedly there's more, but I can't think of anymore without sounding like an egotist.

...is that I'm outgoing and am pretty outspoken. I don't have a problem keeping a conversation or expressing my opinion. Also, it doesn't take people that long to figure out that I love literature or that I'm enthusiastic about motorcycles, science, and nerdy pop-culture.

Favorite Books: Beowulf (actually an epic poem), The Stranger, The Heart of Darkness, and The Hobbit.
Favorite Movies: Anything Wes Anderson does, Lots of Comic Book Movies (Batman, Avengers, Spiderman, etc.), 12 Monkeys and Back to the Future are my favorite time travel flicks (still need to see Looper), and Fist of Legend is probably my favorite Kung Fu flick.
Favorite Shows: The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, How I Met Your Mother, and Black Books.
Favorite Music: I LOVE classic rock; pretty much anything from the 60s-70s is pretty freakin' awesome. I guess I also like '90s alternative and hip hop, but I've been digging on the classic rock tunes more than anything else, lately.
Favorite Food: I'll eat just about anything, but if I have to be pegged down to a single specific food, then I'd have to pick Japanese food (sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, etc. - it's all amazingly delicious).

...how to improve my teaching for the kids. Next, I spend a good amount of time thinking about how to improve myself. I also spend probably too much time thinking about motorcycles, travelling, what life was like in 4th century China, and trying to decide whether or not the Matrix is real, and this is all just some clever delusion to keep me occupied while I'm used as a battery for some robot overlords.

...teaching, then taking Kung Fu classes, then possibly going out, but I work pretty early on Saturday mornings, so I usually save my outings for Saturdays.

...is that I'm a pretty big nerd, and I absolutely love Star Wars and Star Trek.
