My self-summary
I'm creative (for a living and for my own happiness).
I write, shoot and edit video, mostly for websites, and do other audio visual techish things.
Activity is very important; bicycle, softball, golf, gym, walking around the city and the country. I don't spend enough time in the water.
Love simple healthy food and have a wicked sweet tooth.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now shooting corporate video, communication consulting for a start up, producing web videos, taking more stills than ever.
Helping to program a film festival, writing my own projects.
I’m really good at
Taking pictures, sporty stuff, figuring out what's coming in a movie or TV show, catching things, NYT crossword.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I Franzened a lot this year; The Corrections-great, brutal and funny, then Freedom-engaging though different, flowing but not as good.
Working through "...Oscar Wao" (the footnotes!!! ughh)
Have read more Vonnegut, Updike, and Irving than other authors.
G. Saunders, T.C. Boyle.

Mad Men!!! Modern Family, Parks & Rec., New Girl, Key & Peele. Resisted Downton Abbey but it was pointless, big shock that it's great.

Miles Davis, Neil Young, Yo La Tengo, Beck, Lymbyc System, Guided By Voices, Mogwai, Vince Guaraldi, Art Blakey, Modern Jazz Quartet, and many more.
Love FlavorWire's downloads, NPR All Songs Considered, Zep-Lin!

Django Unchained-best movie I've seen in a while in many ways. Scott Pilgrim Vs The World-so much fun! The Future-weird and charming, the latest Batman was big and powerful, Moonrise Kingdom was good and unsettling in the way that time of life is. Good to see Wes Anderson back on the ball.

Evolving best list: Children of Men, Adaptation, Rushmore, The Conversation, Godfather 2, Half Nelson, Three Days of the Condor, The Candidate, MASH, Michael Clayton, Groundhog Day, The Lives Of Others, Restrepo, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, The Limey, Traffic...

Since it's still chilly-soup with an alarming bean variety. Watermelon! Blueberries, salmon, spinach salad with lots of things in it and a couple of times a year I luxuriate in a m/r filet and lobster. A good cheeseburger every once in a while. Kale!
Red wine, good beer.
The six things I could never do without
exercise/physical activity

pen and paper, (there's something about the time it takes, the ideas that come while doodling in the margins that can't be replicated on a computer though I'm sure that app is coming).

cameras and computer (these are just an extension of pen and paper)

connection

sense of humor/imagination

entertainment
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The subjectivity of comedy.
Who are the "public intellectuals" in society today.
Just watched Bernie Saunders talking to the Senate Budget Com. He's compelling.
Meaning/process.
What is happening to small, feature films.
What would it be like to live someplace greener and quieter?
Lenses. And golf.
