My greatest strengths are that I am thoroughly domestic (I cook, clean, do my own laundry, keep my apartment from stinking like rot and mold), I listen well, I don't judge harshly, I'm profoundly patient and always try to look on the bright side of life, I like to look at things realistically and plan a step ahead, and I like getting to know people.
Also to speak candidly too, I really have little to no faith in this website. I used to want to give dating a shot but honestly after seeing all the pretentious, asinine, and flagrantly boring bullshit that fills up the "dating" scene I do believe I'd rather run my arm through a woodchipper. I'm going to be straight, I'm a mix of different styles and ideas. Some days I like to listen to Johnny Cash, Willy Nelson, and Toby Keith. Some days I like to listen to Tyr, Omnia, and Finntroll. Other days I listen to Bauhaus, The Cure, and Sisters of Mercy. There are days I like to spend in my old plaid lounge chair that I rescued from the dumpster, reading a western themed novel, other days I like listening to an old style radio drama thanks to the glorious power of the internet and people who have a modicum of taste and class, other days I like watching old monster movies with a cold beer and popcorn, other days I'm out in the woods doing some bird and critter watching/fishing, other days I'm in the cemetary, doing grave rubbings and meditating amongst the stones
I can shine up like old money when I want to go to the art gallery to see the piece put out by up and coming talent, can entertain guests at more formal parties, pull up a good selection of wine with a dinner, but also can go out and take down a 12 point buck with his wits, patience and a good bow with bullet tip arrows in the cold november morning, knows enough about his care to change out parts and keep in in good maintenance but defers to wiser men with tools and experience when things run south, and can fix most any and all things in the home given a little time and cold beer.
I like to entertain conspiracy theories, listen to stories of the weird and the paranormal, debate theory on the how and why of parapsychology, I've written a paper or two for a parapsychology journal on the nature of ghosts and the use of myth not only as parable but also teaching future generations how to deal with events and phenomena beyond mundane understanding. At the same time I also question and probe anything "Weird" and don't just settle for the answer I see. I look for fakes, frauds, and sloppy work. I back up ideas with evidence, I look for a measure of credibility in any evidence I run up against.
I am an absolute enemy of dogma, whether you're a monotheist, atheist, or polytheist, whether you're white collar, blue collar, no collar, left, right, center, white, black, red, yellow, cis, trans, gay, straight, bi, male, or female. I'm not so naive as to trust what a career politician says at face value, but I'm not so stupidly cynical that doing nothing but petitions, and abstaining from voting will means something, nor am I stupid enough to believe that organising without a goal, or leaders, or a clear set of rules will do anything but make us look like fucking idiotic children. I believe that if you want a revolution, a real one, you do it with education, and real bloody struggle. That you fight back with fists and blood if you get pushed back into a corner. I abide by what Robin of Sherwood says, that if your livelihood is being stolen from you then we take it back...by arrow point if so be it.
At the heart of it all I stand for the truth, the real truth, not a colored glass filter, not a kansas city shuffle, not some nonsense meant to hide you from the world. Undoubtedly I've pissed some people off. If I have, good. That means I've done something right if I've gotten you mad.
