I'm a bit of a nerd that's obsessed with silly 90s television and history. I like to learn new things and study people. I enjoy occasional console/computer gaming, watching funny movies, and having a beer at the end of the day (though I rarely do it, it's always an ideal first date).
I enjoy making people laugh. It's not that I need to be the center of attention, far from it. I'd rather make people around me happier than bring them down. I have a dry sense of humor thats peppered with filthy jokes and silliness.
What I’m doing with my life
Working at Barnes & Noble and learning to cook for myself. I finished my undergrad work in Psychology in June and I'm investigating my next move.
I’m really good at
Knowing random facts about history, sports, and pop culture. Examples: Peter the Great traveled "incognito" around Europe for eighteen months after being tsar or Russia for a year. I put incognito in quotations because he was 6'7". Example #2: Larry Bird was the finest trash talker in the NBA during his time. At the first three point contest he walked into the locker room, looked at his opponents, and said "I'm just looking to see who's going to finish second." Ex. 3: The Simpsons is the only television show to feature all three Beatles following John Lennon's death.
Now, for things that matter, I'm a very good listener, and I can usually intuitively figure out mechanical and (simple) computer problems. I have a strong work ethic and I always try to make people laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile, it's pretty genuine and I try to smile more often than not. My sense of humor, it's very dry and sometimes very offbeat.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've been reading a lot of nonfiction lately about European history extending back to the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
TV: Archer, It's Always Sunny, The Simpsons, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Reno 911, Batman: The Animated Series (ran in the late nineties if you're a cartoon fan), Dr Katz, Home Movies
Music: Classical (Bach, Beethoven, Mozart), Rolling Stones, Blink 182, Daft Punk, Dr. Dre, The Who, Creedence Clearwater Revival
Food: I'm a picky eater. But I do like Italian and Mexican food. Plus cheese makes anything better.
The six things I could never do without
My poodles, carbonated beverages, something to read, family, and something to make me laugh.
That's only five, I know. Want to be lucky number six?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Am I immature for my age or too mature?
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I used to be very depressed. I'm a much more stable and happy person now. I can handle it if you're a little screwed up in the head so long as it doesn't control you.
You should message me if
You have a strong work ethic
You enjoy cuddling
You want me to cook for you
