My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm creative, practical, sensual, affectionate, progressive and business-savvy. I call it being a 'bohemian capitalist.' Healthy living and physicality are important to me, but I also like downtime. I don't need to be out 'doing' all the time and really hope to find someone who enjoys being at ease and appreciates the balance between activity and calm. I'm a semi-recovering news and politics junkie who still needs the occasional in-depth conversation fix. I believe in science more than faith and get along best with people with a similar viewpoint. Love animals, the theatre, good food, long kisses, foot rubs, deep conversation, quiet time together. Sunsets by the Hudson River are wonderful in the summer - join me?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Teaching singing for professional theater & running a business that involves tv/film/video.
Enjoying morning coffee on the pier by the river and sunsets at night in warm weather, reading by the fire (ok, it's one of those sort of fake, gel-burning fireplaces but still nice) when it's cold out.
Exercising at least 3 times a week dance class, working out, walking, occasional tennis.
Going out with friends to plays, dinner, movies. Hiking with my dog. Hoping I'll do these things with a great guy soon!
Adjusting to my empty-nester life now that my son is away at college.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Sharing thoughts, doing the Times crossword puzzle, making smoothies, playing the piano, giving and receiving massages, making breakfast & sometimes dinner, tuning in to other peoples' needs. If you hit a tennis ball anywhere near me, I'll hit it back (3.0ish). And I think I'm good at being part of a couple - that just seems natural to me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
They usually say I look just like my picture and that I look younger than my age. Thanks! I've gotten some compliments on my smile, and, well... I'm told I have a nice butt. That's really the second thing they notice, right? After I walk away?

Cultural and intellectual omnivore.
Theater... I go often, especially since it's part of my job, occasional opera or ballet is nice too.
TV- News, Mad Men, Orange Is The New Black, The Good Wife, Morning Joe, The Affair, Masters of Sex, Glee and some junk that's a total waste of time.
Reading - The NY Times, books... mostly fiction, but found Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers brilliant and enjoy the occasional bio, like Steve Jobs.
Films... I prefer movies without too many car chases or explosions and a good idea or 2 thrown in.
Don't get to museums as much as I'd like, but am enthralled once I'm there.
Music Playing - classically & jazz-trained flutist & pianist, mostly now play Broadway and pop on piano for work.
Music Listening - Classic Rock, Pop, Rock, Broadway, New Age or Classical, dance to hip hop. Lately I've been enjoying Sara Bareilles, Eva Cassidy, Ray LaMontagne, Corrine Baily Rae, Maroon 5, Plain White T's, Jason Mraz, Bruno Mars, John Mayer.
Food - healthy and flavorful. Love New American, Mediterranean, most ethnic foods, especially Indian, Mexican, Afghani, etc. No wheat or red meat for me but you go right ahead. I love eating outside in good weather.
Must have my dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is for amateurs. Yes yes to coffee!
I'm not a big drinker. I enjoy wine with a nice meal, but don't see alcohol as an activity or destination.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My piano, theater, my dog, exercise, intelligent conversation... and you!!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Theater, music, work, life, current events.
How nice it will be to have a great guy to kick back with.
Why so many men are holding a fish in their profile pic.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out to a movie, play or dinner, or home relaxing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't really have any secrets... so whatever you want to know, just ask!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are a nice person, are emotionally, physically and financially fit... or at least trying to be. You live or work in or near NYC. If you have children, hopefully you've given some thought to how you'd like to balance your parenting life with having adult time, and how you might integrate the two under the right circumstances.
Smokers, conservatives & cougar chasers need not apply!
