My self-summary
I am an INTJ, with a weak J. I could possibly be a P, but I think my thinking style is extraverted and not introverted, though I think I use both. It is rather confusing. Only a year ago I tested as an INFJ, but it is my theory that due to my exposure to college, my thinking trait became more dominant. I'm not that great with feeling, anyway. I would recommend taking the Myers Briggs Personality Test, though any free test is going to have a general margin of error, so I suggest taking more than one. Also, if you want to help me out, why don't you take one before and after studying for a major test. I want to see how stress affects the way you answer the test. Totally unscientific, but it is my opinion that personality types don't fit the ever-changing personality of man, so I would think that personality types would be impermanent, or it could just be proof that free personality tests are invalid and flawed. By now, you probably have figured out that I'm probably the geekiest person around, and I'm quite anal-retentive. I don't like being proven wrong, and I don't take criticism well, but I'm working on both. Also, I'm a Psychology Major. I need to study something other than Personality, because it's only a subject variable so I can't do any experimental studies with it, only correlational studies. Sad days.
Also, I'm looking for volunteers who are willing to live in a Skinner Box over the summer... Just kidding.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My music tastes are very eclectic and my favorites change often. Right now I enjoy Origa, Vanessa-Mae, Ilaria Graziano, The Cardigans, Utada, and other odd artists. Here's a link to my last.fm library. Hopefully it works. http://www.last.fm/user/Maethirion/library
I prefer melo songs with traditional instruments. I find background music and Classical music to be enjoyable and relaxing so I listen to it often. My favorite Composers are the well known composers like Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Pachelbel, Debussy, and Tchaikovsky.

New: I'm addicted to artists like Ani Difranco and Vermillion Lies. Does anyone know of similar sounding artists?

I find it hard to list favorite books because I enjoy reading, and most books I have read, I have liked. I really enjoy reading Sarah Waters' novels. The Girl with a Pearl Earring was good as well as Tamora Pierce's Trickster series. White Fang and The Lord of the Flies are among my all time favorites. I enjoyed the Harry Potter series when I was a kid, but I prefer to read books like Dorian Grey and Lolita now that I am older and can appreciate the classics. My least favorite book was Oliver Twist. The only things that could probably be a worse read than that would be picture books, high school text books, and perhaps science abstracts. Edit that. Portes was a horrible read, but I'd rather read that than Oliver Twist.
Favorite Books so far:
Anne of Green Gables Series
A Little Princess
The Secret Garden
Little Women Series - Little Men was my favorite
Pride and Prejudice
Dandelion Wine
The Abhorsen Series
The Keys to the Kingdom Series
Harry Potter Series
Lord of the Flies
Julie of the Wolves
White Fang
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep

The six things I could never do without
For some reason, I was thinking that this was: The six things you never leave your house without... Anyway, I guess I'll make two lists.
Six Things I never leave the house without:
Phone(for the time and games for when I get bored, oh, and communication) Derp. I need a watch.
iPod
Book bag - yeah, I'm always going around with my book bag, because I might have to do some studying. Sadly I am most inept at this.
Gum(for breath just in case)
Macbook(I might need it at some point)
Debit Card(In case I need to buy something like advil or dinner)
Keys(dorm and/or car)

Six Things I could never do without: Can this be about nonphysical things?
1. The Ability to Read and Write: Literacy
2. Academic Resources - The Internet - Databases anyone? Libraries are nice, too. I'm just waiting for an entirely virtual library, where any and every book can be read via .pdf or some other format. Three Cheers for Academia. Too bad it stifles creativity.
3. A Friend - Doesn't always have to be the same friend, but camaraderie is always nice.
4. A Warm Bed, and a place to sleep. I'm lucky to have all of these provided for me.
5. Self-Reliance: The ability to rely on myself - Still working on that, but that's a part of growing up.
6. Self-Respect - Ok, so I thought that listing Mazlow's hierarchy of Needs to be a little too nerdy, so I'll simply list self-respect. I already have aspects of it in the other 5. Self-Reliance is different than Self-Respect in that, I could be reliant without a good view of myself, but I think they both work well together. I need to respect myself, or I will never push myself to succeed in reaching my goals.

7. Europe--- What!? Ok, I'm thinking too abstractly. I'm just kidding. My thought processes are too crazy to be translated onto this profile. I need to go reorganize my thoughts. XD

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Different things theoretical and otherwise. I could probably write essays on the topics, and some of them could be used for correlational studies. Some ideas are rather abstract. I need to learn more, so that I can expand my interests.
Philosophical views that I agree with:
Humanism
Agnosticism
Skepticism
Positivism
...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll share my thoughts if you show enough interest. I know this doesn't apply, but as an Introvert, I don't share every little thing about me, so by sharing my thought processes, unhindered, then that's something, right? I would love to talk theory with anybody, though I may just end up getting caught up on reality, but I'll try not to be critical. After all Theory is separate from reality. Theoretical Principles ≠ Natural Laws of Reality.

I’m looking for
  • Girls who like girls
  • Ages 19-25
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
... you like to talk. I enjoy philosophical discussions, but I also enjoy short chats too. I prefer the former. I will argue about anything and everything. I'm quite anal-retentive, and sometimes I don't know when to quit arguing. I'm not that great at small talk. I'll try to respond in a timely manner, but I am not always online. I apologise if it takes me a week, a month, or even a year to respond. I don't intentionally ignore anyone. This message was brought to you by... just kidding. :)
