Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love pretty things and am easily distracted by the glam. That
said, I'm kind of a cheapskate; I love fancy clothes and good wine,
but I almost never shop and I will cheerfully drink turpentine at
$7 a bottle. I'm like a cat - I'm likely to come off a bit aloof at
first but I have sudden bursts of cuddly affection, and I like to
knead furniture with my claws.

and I are doing long
distance while I pursue my Masters in the UK, so I'm not in for
anything terribly serious.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm pursuing an obscure little Masters in Bath and hopefully
recording an album finally. In my spare time I'm playing a lot of
Binding of Isaac and Risk of Rain, drinking port with my roommates
and spending too much time on Twitter.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing music is one of my favourite things in the world and maybe
the only thing I believe I'm good at almost 100% of the time. I'm
also a fair writer and copy-editor, if you're into that sort of
thing. I make pretty good "That's what she said" jokes.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Blue eyes and dark brown hair. Yes, I dye my hair. The eyes are

My favourite book is usually whatever I'm enjoying at the moment.
The mainstays are Les Misérables, Pride & Prejudice, Midnight's
Children, the comic series Saga and The Thing Around Your Neck.
Right now I'm going through an OMG OCTAVIA BUTLER phase. A short
list of movies that have made me ugly-cry: Lars and the Real Girl,
Sixth Sense, Pokémon: The First Movie. I'd be sublimely happy if I
could eat Morrocan, Ethiopian, Thai or Italian food every single
I listen to a lot of folk, R&B/soul and pop, but I get frequent
hip hop, country, old-skool rock-n-roll and opera cravings. If I
could have three musicians on a desert island, they would probably
be Janelle Monae, Elliott Smith and Otis Redding. I will never get
tired of the REM song "Shiny Happy People."
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My family, my pals, a way of making music, trees and mountains, an
elastic for my hair, good conversation.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend my days thinking about songwriting methodology and
practice, or possibly fretting about money. I spend my nights
thinking about intersectional feminism and afrofuturism. Oh, and
My interests are varied and I can get excited about almost anything
that doesn't require doing math in my head.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Drinking tea, finishing a bottle of wine with my roommates, playing
games (board, card, video), or hitting the gym.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I misspelled a word on a Grade 2 spelling test, but the teacher
misread my messy handwriting and gave me a point for the word. She
even held up my test as an example for the rest of the class. To
this day I haven't corrected her.
