My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
According to OK Cupid, I'm the Slow Dancer (DGLDm). According to Myers-Briggs, I'm an INTJ. You figure out how to reconcile them well, and you're one up in my book. Anyway, mainly looking for friends...or to date someone special who does happen to come along. Hey, it happens right?

Moved to Brooklyn a year ago after 5.5 years in San Francisco (probably my most significant move since it wasn't related to school). Still getting used to things like cold, snow, 24-hour transit, and people always in a rush.

I graduated with my undergraduate degree from UCLA in Marine Biology (why you see me scuba diving!), and wrapped up my master's degree in public health (specifically global environmental health) at Emory. Commissioned into the Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service, and here for a job.

It's been slow going settling into a new city that's so big in both size and people, and where I don't want to go out half the year due to either cold or humidity, me explore!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just did a bit of a career shift moving from doing investigations for the FDA to emergency response coordination. Still faking it 'til I make it, but I'm getting there. Also finally living on my own so learning how to keep an apartment up on my own. It's kind of awesome but also kind of lonely. :-( So in keeping with my marine bio-ness, I finally set up a fish tank! Not very big, but it's nice to have a little life going on.

I'm also pretty involved with the contemporary a cappella community, having started a group at UCLA, and working as a producer for the Varsity Vocals International Championship of College/High School A Cappella. So, if you love to sing, hit me up!

Also, still dreaming for the day that I could be an Imagineer, though I imagine that that ship has long sailed with my career path and education. Ah well, I can still pretend.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
learning about new things, and new people. So I guess it makes sense that I'm a good traveler too, wherever I go, whatever the language.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm the quiet one who takes some time to warm up, but once I get going, it doesn't stop.

a) Beating Back the Devil - Maryn McKenna, The Hot Zone - Richard Preston, The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide - Douglas Adams, Control of Communicable Diseases - APHA Press (I'm not joking...)
b) Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars (anyone sense a theme here?)
c) Great college a cappella
d) Californian, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Korean, Italian, French (OMG I miss good Mexican food. I'm still looking for a burrito joint. If you have one, please let me know!)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
an eagerness to learn
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
nothing in particular. i rarely think of anything too long. most people think about the future...i think it's great to contemplate it, but not to overthink it. after all, we can't really control what may happen in the future. it's good to have a rough plan, but i think that's about it.

otherwise, you'll usually find me thinking about nature (specifically, the enormity of the ocean and how insignificant we are...aka sitting on a rocky shoreline at sunset), health issues, and music, specifically how to make a cappella better.

oh, and where my next travel plans may take me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
hanging out with friends, either at a bar or plopped in front of a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a thing for guys who are smart, cute, hot, fun, and kinda geeky.

You're bored. :-p Or if you'd like to explore a neighborhood, play board games, go food hunting...y'know, fun life things! Also, if you're a Disney Parks fanboy like I am.

But I will say this....I'm kinda terrible at checking messages, despite having the OKC app. If I don't respond for a while, I promise I'm not ignoring you! :-/
