My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"A gentle type, with a tendency to be pleasantly surprised."
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I support children with special needs in a Hackney secondary school. It's amazing, and I'm going to work and being delighted pretty much every day. I worked for a while as an untrained supply teacher in a south-east London secondary school, which is crazy. How anyone thinks someone with no formal educational training is fit to take a class is beyond me, but somebody clearly does, because it's legal. I did it with a view to becoming a trained teacher, which I like to think makes it marginally less weird. I am aware it probably doesn't. I'm currently going through the application process to teach History in secondary schools.

I play football, banjo and sing, though less often than I'd like.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Arguing just about any point imaginable, simply by asking questions of other people. Pub quizzes. I can sing and cook pretty well. If you reckon you could sing June's part in Jackson, Emmylou's part in Hickory Wind or Gillian's part in By The Mark, please do let me know!

Given that I just went back into this to remove a space that was sitting brazenly before a comma, I'm guessing I may have mild grammar/proof-reading issues as well. Though, it must be said, only in my own writing. I won't jump on every typo, promise!

Oh, and if you think you can play foosball? Bring it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm told it's my laugh, as it usually precedes me into a room by a good 20 minutes. Also my eyes and my smile. But don't they all say that?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

There used to be looooong lists here. They're available on request. I don't expect a request.

Books: Carter Beats The Devil, Molesworth, The Amazing Adventures Of Kavalier & Clay (and most other things written by Michael Chabon)

Comedy: Looney Tunes, Bill Hicks, The Goon Show

Food: Mexican, BBQ
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Food. Puns. How to come back more wittily to something that was said three days ago.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
You know that thing, the thing all the cool kids do on a typical Friday night? Well, yeah, I'm doing that. On a spaceship. Twice.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really like Flying Without Wings by Westlife. *stands up and walks meaningfully towards camera with the key change*

Oh, and I can't fucking stand Stewart Lee.

Fondness for humour (particularly puns and wordplay) pretty much mandatory. The ability to hold a conversation always helps, as do common interests and the ability to look like something more attractive than the back end of a bus. Someone who gives an actual fuck about something. Someone who's willing to say what she wants and then discuss it. Someone who knows her own mind, is able to express herself and be challenged on it. Sound like anyone you know?
