My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Kyle [kahyl], n.: a Massachusetts-ite who's a economics major, former barista and EMT at a Boston college, though not Boston College. Don't even get me started about how awful most economics people are, but suffice to say, I'm interested in Marxian, feminist, anarchist, race-based, and other lefty economic models. In addition to the regular things like books and computers, I'm also a great fan of the arts, both performing and fine. I have been called an odd person by some pretty odd people, but I think they're just jealous.

I grew up right near Boston, and now live here, but haven't really picked up too bad a case of the usual odious habits - Sox fandom, crazy driving technique, etc. Okay so that last part's a lie.

I really enjoy listening to other people speak about their passions, so friendly arguments are always fun. While I appreciate strong-held beliefs, I'm not above poking fun at the illogic in mine and others' reasons. Spending time with my friends is important to me, even if it's just shooting the breeze on the phone or online.

I currently live with Socrates and Aristotle (cats). I also recently moved in with my partner so, you know, be okay with the poly.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Attending college, meeting new people, trying to figure out which of the many specialties of economics really what I want to do for life (Marxian is currently winning), being a huge nerd.

These days I have a pretty enjoyable and large involvement in the kink scene, and work at the board level for a local nonprofit specializing in kink/GLBTQ/poly rights and I can talk your ear off about it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I pick up things pretty well, so I'm passable at many things, but I'm especially good at memorization and recall. I tend to not take notes because I don't need to.

Basically, I am a bit of a walking Wikipedia - both the good and bad things that implies.

I'm a top (in the BDSM sense) so if you like getting tied up, set on fire (safely), beat up, ordered around, etc., I'm your man.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My lack of sanity.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

1) Too many to list, but includes everything by Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Harry Turtledove, Neal Stephenson, David & Leigh Eddings, and Daniel Dennet. Some special ones I've especially enjoyed are Battle Royale (the Japanese work) and Game of Thrones.

1.a) Lefty books: David Harvey, David Graeber, Karl Marx, Julia Serano, J. Sakai. I'm working my way through the literature, though.

2) I enjoy pretty much every genre, except maybe period romance, though that could be just my lack of exposure. Personal favorites include Secretary, Grindhouse (and anything else by Rodriguez or QT), 12 Angry Men, Children of Men, A Clockwork Orange, Slither, and anything starring Stephen Chow.

3) Again, I like pretty much every genre - current favs are Dead Prez, Choking Victim/Leftover Crack/Starfucking Hipsters, Immortal Technique, Brother Ali, Nine Inch Nails, Queen, David Bowie, Simon and Garfunkel, Judy and Mary (a Japanese Rock band), DJ Z-Trip, Billy Idol, George Clinton, Daft Punk, Muse, Girl Talk, and Mumford and Sons.

4) I'll try pretty much anything, but I have particular love for Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and Italian.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The internet, friendship, affection, free will, sex, and sincerity.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Science, politics, philosophy, sex, and the interrelationships thereof. Intersectionality is kind of my thing.

Also pretty much any activity ever done by a nerd.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
These days most likely going out, but sometimes I'm just hanging around the house, either talking with my distant friends or doing nerdy things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
On two separate occasions, for more than a month, I could legitimately be called an Amateur Competitive Cyberathlete.
Also, I'm a sadist but very ethical about it I swear!
