My self-summary
I am a gestalt made up of many semi-conscious identities that are themselves statistical interpoloations of the interaction between billions of brain cells.

I am a computer geek. This is a fact. I play on mushes, did EVE for a while, play video games, and get my news (as well as my employment) from the internet. I also do geeky non-computer stuff like pen and paper roleplaying, reading the occasional comic book, or watching cartoons or anime.

I am the kind of person who starts out reading a wikipedia entry about The Godfather and three hours later I realize I am halfway through the biography of one of the illegitimate children Cortez had with the heir of Montezuma. I have a tendancy to remember a good portion of the stuff I read this way, meaning I know a lot of what is essentially random trivia. This also means that I can carry on a conversation about a strikingly large set of topics, even stuff I have no formal education in. I enjoy using this against philosophy majors.

I am pals with drcello. We enjoy needlessly needling philosophy majors. Cartesian theaters my ass.
I am also pals with Opeth1987 (and her bf). Her cat humped my shoe.

I may or may not be an INTJ depending on how valid the test results are.

I am geeky, detail oriented, and alive

What I’m doing with my life
I have taken a full time job! And moved, incidentally, halfway across the country. So we'll see how it goes!

I still have a fondness for the freelance stuff though and I look forward to building up that business.

Also I appear to have discovered I may be in possession of a work ethic. It may just be that working is more entertaining than being bored.

I’m really good at
typing, planning things out in advance, debates, google-fu, problem-solving, knowing a little about a lot and a lot about a little.

I am also fairly good at stringing words together. For instance, before I entered the 7th grade I had to write an essay to get into something; the topic was, "What is the most important thing that ever happened to you?"

My answer was "Being Born," extended to a few paragraphs. I got in.

Also: Grammar. I have always done very well at using it! Don't ask me what a gerund is, though, my grammar lore is all gained from reading lots of books (especially when I was little) and not so much studying the rules.

The first things people usually notice about me
I asked around about this:
People apparently know I have a CS degree before I actually mention it. Also my "really good" sense of humor.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Fiction wise, most often fantasy, scifi or possibly historical fiction. A random selection of books or authors I've really liked: song of ice and fire, snowcrash, altered carbon, peter f. hamilton, Gaiman.

Nonfiction tends to the history or economics side of things (I minored in econ and flirted with the idea of a history minor). I've been meaning to read those black economy books for-ever. Kurzweil is pretty good for futurism, and I enjoy transhumanist concepts.

Music: I like lots of stuff. classical, metal, nerdcore. Not so much with country or regular rap though. Random selections: beethoven, metallica, nightwish, mc chris, vast, vnv nation, baroque stuff ( I heart the harpsichord), nin

I like food and trying new things. It has to be really darn vile before I won't eat it. I am an omnivore, but cutting back on meat might be nice. I really like pad thai. When I drink (rarely) it is never beer, but mixed drinks or just hard stuff straight.

Movies: I can suspend my disbelief pretty easily, so I like movies (and TV shows) that other people find horribly stupid. I still couldn't finish Lost in Translation, though. I liked both Firefly and Serenity, but who didn't? I like Star Wars even if the dimestore morality is grating a lot of the time.

None of the above: http://www.erfworld.com == awesome.

The six things I could never do without
Eyeglasses/contacts/bionic eyes, tea, internet access, showers, cell phone, computer
Well, hm. That list is rather pedestrian. Let me instead list four activities that I will actually turn off my computer for:
1) Reading a good book
2) Partaking in enjoyable company
3) Consuming (occasionally creating) tasty food
4) A pleasant walk

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Tons of stuff! I should make a list, but I can never remember to do so when I'm actually thinking about it.

On a typical Friday night I am
Around! Alas. Usually on the computer, too. This is perhaps something I ought to rectify. Perhaps with your assistance!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wear glasses instead of contacts because I have a Thing about stuff touching my eyes. I can't even use eyedrops.

When I was playing the Legend of Zelda, and Link turned blue, I freaked the hell out, I thought I broke something.
