My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello, I hope you're doing well. Let's cut to the chase; I'll tell you a little bit about me and who I think I work well with. If what you read piques your interest, drop me a line and tell a bit about you. I know there's a certain profile or lines that can get you the most likes or responses here, but I'm just looking for one match, so I hope you'll be yourself!

From when I was a little kid I have always been an engineer. I have an insatiable curiosity to know how things work and I like to take things apart. This means I'm constantly observing things, taking things apart, and trying to optimize them into something better. I grew up building Lego sets, programming little video games, and taking everything apart I could get my hands on (and that I wouldn't get into too much trouble if I broke). This also leads me to be quite adventurous as well. I love trying new experiences and learning new skills. I spent last year learning to Salsa dance (and performing in front of a few hundred people at the Seattle Salsa Congress) and learning to work out with a personal trainer. This year, I'm working on singing with a voice coach and might pick up a few more things later in the year.

All things considered, I've been very fortunate. While I'm far from being rich, I do okay for myself, especially when you consider that 5.8 billion people live on less than $10 a day. I think that being privledged also means that I have a responsibility to do what I can to give back. This in conjunction with my love of understanding complex systems means that I spend a lot of my time learning about how the many different systems of the world work and trying to figure out what we can do to make life better for everyone. I hope that we can bring about an era of cooperation based on the understanding that common human interests tanscend our diversity. We're close to a breakthrough, but we still have a lot of work to do.

Current positions that I have openings for. ;)
I'm looking for a companion to journey with through, well, life. Just as much as I'd love to go on adventures with you, I would also enjoy talking about the experiences and trying to understand why things are the way they are. We can talk about everything from sociology and psychology, to government and finance because every subject that exists is actually just a different perspective on the same reality. I'm very attracted to intelligence. I want to fall in love with your mind, your thoughts, and your perspective on life. You're logical, patient, and have a heart that wants to give back. I hope that you're better with people than I am, because I tend to focus more on culture and systems than individuals. I want to dance with you and read in bed next to you. Oh, how a good vocabulary is hot.

A few real reviews from people I meet while traveling! (via

"[ManOfTitanium] was great to meet because he gives people inspiration to follow their dreams. I wish we could have chatted longer about his travels. I am planning on doing the same type of journey after quitting my job and it was nice to meet someone who is proof that the dream can be accomplished. Good luck and have a blast! Cheers!"

"[ManOfTitanium] is pretty freaking awesome. He's one of the few who have the guts to step away from it all and look for something new, and something better."
- Alex, Atlanta, GA

"[ManOfTitanium] my wonderful, beautiful, elegant and smart boy from Seattle, Ohio, China, Canada, Burning Man :) I have had a wonderful time whenever we met! We rocked Burning Man, partied until the last moment in Las Vegas and went out dancing and dressing up every day in Tampa!!! I always think about my black cat partner in crime and our fast ride with the black Cabrio listening to Lady Gaga!!! Miss you already and can't wait to see you again at Burning Man!!! :)"

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Now that I've already gone on most of the solo adventures, I spend most of my time, reading, thinking, and learning. The world is the biggest and most complex system that we can influence, which consequentially makes it the most interesting to dissect. I spend my time learning about the injustices that are happening, through, for example, Human Rights Watch, or reading books that chronicle the amazing stories behind the development of different fields. Some good books here include Guns, Germs, and Steel, The Most Powerful Idea in the World, and Blood and Guts: A History of Surgery.

Besides that, data. So much data from everywhere: UN, WTO, NASA, ESA, and different departments of the US government. These provided an unparalleled view into what is going on with the world right now - things that aren't yet understood and haven't been translated into book knowledge yet. It's incredibly exciting!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
When I'm not working or working on a hobby, I enjoy watching movies with some Choya Plumb wine or out eating some ramen. Katana-ya is my favorite place in Seattle! I enjoy video games, especially the art games that come out now and then, but I also enjoy competitive e-sports like Starcraft. I was pretty amused when they started playing live Starcraft competitions at a few bars in Seattle.

I'm also looking around for a road bike to start riding again, and so that I can wear this amazing piece of clothing:
