SWF seeks well read, lovable geek

My name is Amanda.
I am Italian and I love it--cooking good Italian food is really near and dear to my heart and my friends' stomachs love me for it!
I LOVE the outdoors: camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, bonfires--count me in!
I enjoy the coffee shop atmosphere and can be seen frequenting them-- as well as indie book stores and libraries.
I love being on a stage. I am an actress, vocalist, and poet. I'm a classically trained mezzo soprano. I used to play the trumpet and I am currently trying to pick up the ukulele.
I enjoy long intellectual conversations.
I WILL use the Oxford comma. Viva la Oxford comma!!!!
I find quick wit, enjoyment of reading, and men that have that big and tall lumberjack look to be extremely attractive.
I am an avid drinker of coffee, chai, and wine.
I am fairly bookish in nature (code for I'm a huge nerd when it comes to things concerning books)
I am probably one of the biggest hopeless romantics you will ever meet-- I blame the English Romantic writers and the Victorians!
I love tattoos. I currently have three, two which are fairly book nerdish.
Education is very important to me. At one point I was on track to become a 7-12 English teacher. I love working with children/young adults. There is something about being able to enrich the minds of tomorrow that is extremely fulfilling.

This has quickly turned into a list....
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Graduated from SUNY Oneonta in the spring of 2012 with a BS in English and a minor certificate in Theatre Arts. I am currently attending The University of Buffalo in pursuit of my MLS (Masters of Library Science). Because of this I spend the vast majority of my time in Lockwood Memorial Library doing ILL things... I hope to land a job in an archive working with rare books or in a public library working with young adults--but I'll take what ever library job comes first.

There is also a good chance that I might just drop everything right now and start on my plans to become supreme ruler of the universe.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
--- there is a difference as to what you may perceive that I am good at and what I think myself to be good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes or how thick a head of hair I have--no really, my hair is super thick and when my hair is long I have no choice but to wear it back in a ponytail almost every day of the summer or suffer the consequences of the heat.

Or... it could be that I'm always carrying around several large books with me, not for academic purposes, but more for leisurely reading.

The answer to the life, the universe, and everything--it's 42. Still trying to figure out the exact question that needs to be asked to come to that numerical conclusion.

Poetry, where I have been and where I am going, absurdities, various romantic notions, trying to figure out when exactly it was when meeting people became so hard, whether the person I am meant to be with has resorted to trying his hand at online dating too ...the likelihood of the zombie Apocalypse
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably watching movies. I love, love, love movies or I could be reading a book. I have more books than I know what to do with at this point. Or... I could be at a rehearsal. I do a lot of theatre...I'm currently taking a hiatus though...not by choice.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tend to take on more projects than I have time for---classic over-achiever.

Oh, and unlike many other ladies-- I absolutely dislike being called "babe". I think it is completely unoriginal and I don't like being referred to as a child (babe = baby, which in turn denotes that I am a child). It's a huge strange pet peeve of mine. If you can't come up with something original please just call me by my name.
