My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In the forest, there was a crooked tree and a straight tree. Every day, the straight tree would say to the crooked tree, "Look at me...I'm tall, and I'm straight, and I'm handsome. Look at're all crooked and bent over. No one wants to look at you." And they grew up in that forest together. And then one day the loggers came, and they saw the crooked tree and the straight tree, and they said, "Just cut the straight trees and leave the rest." So the loggers turned all the straight trees into lumber and toothpicks and paper. And the crooked tree is still there, growing stronger and stranger every day. _Tom Waits

I like the smell of cordite, and woodsmoke. I like the sound of city traffic off in the distance. I like the way flaking lead-white paint looks when it is lit from below. I like blues before it moved to Chicago. I like Velasquez paintings of dwarves, and The Venture Brothers. I spend a lot of time thinking about how best to display animated gifs as a form of fine art. I like reading about theology, but I never pray. I often talk to myself, but I rarely give myself any answers. I'm a sucker for good conversation. I try to be a good listener. I drink my coffee black, and I drink my bourbon on the rocks. I love most of my neighbors.

or How I got a job relevant to my somewhat unattainable career goals, and learned to deal with large institutions.

I work as an A/V tech at an art museum. I'm an Artist. I'm a bit of a geek about it, so if you enjoy having long deep conversations about the philosophical implications of Warhol's religious paintings, then we'll definitely get along. Nevertheless, I still enjoy going to the movies, taking over a bar on a sunday afternoon, or catching the odd baseball game.

I neither drive nor own a car. I don't drive for a lot of reasons, some political, some economic, some personal. I know that's a big deal in Dallas. If this is a complete deal breaker for you, go ahead and hit the "hide" button on the top right. It will save us both some time.
