My self-summary
Hello, my name is Anthony. As a child, I firmly believed I'd grow up to be a mad scientist and invent horrible things the likes of which mortal men dare not comprehend, but then I grew up and figured out shit like that doesn't happen on its own. Now I'll probably just be studying in college until I die, trading the degrees I've earned for ever higher paying jobs to earn more degrees.

As an adult, I can't say I've really changed that much. Obviously I haven't destroyed the world yet, but I'm still a walking bundle of aspirations trying to go in every direction at once and getting increasingly frustrated by a society that wants me to specialize into obscurity.

My friends say I'm an honest, nice sort of fellow who actually listens and would probably be funny as hell if drunk/high. I say I'm a terrible example of our race and have far too many flaws to even consider the option of reproducing, but at least I have a sense of humor.

I'm here for new friends, people to hang out with, and interesting adventures to embark on. Say hello if you're up to it.
I’m really good at
I make playing video games look like an art, possibly due to growing up with them. One of these days I hope to turn this talent into money.

If OKC is to be believed, I'm better than average at basic logic and having opinions. I guess that's worth noting.

I'm also interested in terribly outdated weaponry like swords and bows, and at some point in the future I hope to be skilled in using at least one of those. That's not something I'm very good at yet, though.
The first things people usually notice about me
Common consensus seems to be "morbidly fascinating".

I can't say I'm surprised.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Ye eld gods, this list is out of control.

I love me some dark fantasy and science fiction. You know, the intelligent kind that gets in your head and makes you question everything you thought was right and wrong. I also like cheap and flighty stuff, because I can't be arsed to remain consistent.

Books/comics/manga:
I don't read nearly as much as I'd like to, and I'm still waiting to flesh out my personal library with such necessities as Lovecraft and Asimov, as well as the requisite copy of Paradise Lost. Things I've actually finished and enjoyed include Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Midnight at the Well of Souls, Transmetropolitan, and The Sandman.

Movies/Anime/TV Series:
I've only recently started on anime, but it fills the majority of this section. I like movies as a concept but rarely actually watch them, and I almost never watch TV and hate anything with a laugh track on principle. Code Geass, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Ghost in the Shell are some of my favorites.

Music:
Metal metal metal metal metal. Usually old-school power metal, but I listen to industrial or gothy styles as well. Examples include Iced Earth, Symphony X, Rob Zombie, and Within Temptation.

Video Games:
I usually play silly little things like Dark Souls and Shin Megami Tensei, but I was raised on Nintendo and still have a soft spot in my heart for Mario, LoZ, and Metroid. Oh, and Pokemon. I can and will annihilate half your team with a Slaking, of all things.

Board, Card, and Tabletop Games:
Unfortunately, I don't get to a whole lot. Not for lack of interest, but more for lack of other people willing to play. I used to have a truly astonishing Magic: the Gathering collection, but I had to sell most of it when I moved because I didn't have room for them all. I like to familiarize myself with the D&D and Pathfinder rulebooks but rarely ever get to play, and the old standbys like Monopoly, Scrabble, and Chess are fun but I haven't so much as touched them in years.

Food:
I like to eat all my food groups in one go, so pizza, subs, pasta, burgers, and vegetable/fruit juice appeal to me. I also like tea (except green tea, which I think tastes like grass), candies such as smarties and pixie sticks, and I haven't really tried coffee yet but I love the way it smells. On a side note, I can't stand seafood.
The six things I could never do without
Video games - See above.

Internet - If I'm not wasting time reading comics or watching shows, I'm using it to stab anonymous strangers with my Penetrating Sword +5. That is an actual weapon in a video game, and it is awesome.

Pizza - Above and beyond mere necessity. I don't even know how I'm not fat. Maybe I burn all the calories just by thinking?

Warmth - I cannot stand cold, it's like my kryptonite or something. Hence why I usually wear thick, black clothes or sweaters while outside, or wrapped up in blankets while inside.

Caffeine - Guess who isn't a morning person?

My brain/consciousness/will - It is quite literally the only thing I have worth mentioning. A side effect of being a pasty, stick-thin nerd, I assume.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The generic stuff.

- What did I eat last night?
- Is there a limit to how many prosthetics/cybernetics a person can get before they're no longer considered human?
- If I were a vampire, would I rationalize feeding on people to sustain eternal life or would I rather die?
- What would living as a hivemind actually be like, and how long would it take for everyone to snap and stab each other in the collective consciousness?
- If I were to somehow take over north korea, how could I bring their population back into the modern age without breaking all their minds with culture shock?
- Would it be illegal to install a pit trap outside my front door, and would it be considered bad taste to call it a mormon trap?

You know, perfectly ordinary things.
On a typical Friday night I am
If you've been paying attention up to this point, I shouldn't have to say anything here.

I don't get out much, but I can be tempted by things like paintball, restaurants, laser tag, roller coasters, archery, renaissance fairs, various sci-fi/anime/fantasy conventions, or really pretty tropical places.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I know more about pokemon than anyone has a right to, and I don't consider this as much of a problem as not having anyone to play with. I'm not sure which of these is supposed to be more embarrassing.

As for more private matters... I'd have to get to know you first.
