My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have to say this: If you lied about your age, we probably aren't a match. If you lied, and then told the truth, you still lied. And if you think I won't notice, you have underestimated me.

I hate to start out like that, but it has to be said. Even if you think everyone lies, I am still looking for the woman that didn't. I will be honest with you, and if you aren't honest with me, it won't work. It's pretty simple. If you are a woman that wants an honest man, you have come to the right place, but I deserve the same thing and wanted to make that clear.

I am a very smart, funny, honest man that is very communicative and open with my feelings.

I am not fascinated by sports, and would rather stay active than watch other people staying active.

I love the simple things in life. I love the finer things too. But I appreciate the simple things, and consider every day to be a gift.

I am 59 years old, at least until 9-16-2015. Well, that would be at most until 9-16-2015. After that date, I will definitely no longer be 59 years old. That's just how it works. I have made it my goal to be in the best shape of my life, but I'm not going to be more interested at looking at myself in the mirror. I'd rather look at you.

I joke around a lot, and make bad jokes and would love to meet someone that will appreciate my particular style of humor.

I am pretty good about getting the door for you, but I went to Berkeley and understand that some women don't like that. However, I am just saying that old-fashioned gentlemanly stuff is part of the MarVistaMan package.

I'd love if you lived near West Los Angeles. It makes it so much easier to be spontaneous, and leaves more time for fun when we aren't stuck in Freeway traffic, trying to get to each other.

And if you are tall, and I haven't lost you yet, let's get to know each other. I am not cut from the same mold as everyone else, and you will have no idea what I am like, until you meet me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I put fit as my body type. I'm doing my best to make sure that is true.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
The first thing that popped into my mind is that I've been told that a give a great massage. I think I am good at a lot of things. I seem to have more patience than most when it comes to problem solving. I really like my cooking, maybe you would too.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes or my smile. If they get to know me, it would definitely be my sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music is my favorite thing that I can discuss in polite company. I have so many favorite artists, and I love discovering more. It's easier to say the kind of music that I don't like. Most rap, most showtunes, most metal and new country. I love the old country, bluegrass, roots music, the blues, jazz, funk and lots of gospel (I'm so ashamed, what kind of Jew am I?). My favorite is, and will always be, classic rock. Some of my favorites are: Beatles, The Band, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Commander Cody, Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks and (brace yourself) Frank Zappa. Don't worry, I have earphones for that.

I love movies, although I'm starting to feel that my time would be better spent catching up and watching older movies, as I find the new ones to be formulaic and derivative. I enjoy good comedies, science fiction, romantic comedies and lots of indie films. Some of my favorites are The Graduate, A Fish Called Wanda, and Harold and Maude.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Dark Chocolate
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
A warm, dry place to sleep.
Oxygen. I really love Oxygen. Can't live without it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I'm going to eat next. I think about a lot of things all the time. But food is one of my favorite things to think about. Sex too, but you knew that already.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It could be a quiet evening at home. I love those. Or I might be out trying something new. I have a lot of new things I want to do and they only make 7 days a week to do them. Next Friday, I'd like to be going on my last first date, with you.
