My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Just your average "nice guy". Well, that and a bunch of "geek" tossed in.

I like the outdoors. I'm pretty good on inline skates, but it was a 12 month activity in TX, and I miss that now that I live in Alaska. I also bike, ski a little, hike, and other regular outdoor stuff. I was reading this over and realized I hadn't updated this in some time. I've moved from Alaska to Auckland.

People tell me that I have some far-out beliefs, but I don't expect others to have the same beliefs as me. I don't eat red meat or pork (not technically a vegetarian, but most people don't seem to think so). My political, religious, and personal beliefs are also quite different from most people's, but again, I have no problem with others that don't share my beliefs.

I'm generally a happy person. Is the glass half empty or half full? No, the user selected the wrong glass for the application, or if that is the only glass available, then it was over engineered.

Speaking of which, if you thought the previous paragraph was stupid, please move along - nothing to see here. If you thought it was funny, then you will enjoy being around me. I have an odd sense of humour, but I'm constantly cracking jokes. Sometimes a little too sarcastic, but usually filled with obscure references to lines from the Simpsons or some movie.

I am iconoclastic, orthogonal, and perspicacious
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work days as a Computer Guy. I'm taking graduate classes for an MBA in Telecommunications Management. I spend at least 3 days a week in group physical activities (biking with friends, volleyball, soccer). I have my life planned out a little too much - my retirement is already planned, down to the month of retirement.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
trivia. I know every useless fact there is. The less useful, the better.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a geek. Sorry, I can't hide it.

Well, no one guesses my age. They are usually off by 5-10 years. And if you look at the picture, you should be able to guess which way they are off by.

And I've been told that I look like 3 people. When Doogie Howser M.D. was on the air, I was given the nickname "Doogie." That was mainly for the nerdy, young-looking know-it-all similarity. I don't look too much like the grown-up Neil Patrick Harris. The second I've been told I look like is Conan O'Brian. This is, from what I can tell, mainly mannerisms - especially when telling jokes. Again, a still photo comparison doensn't reveal that we were twins separated at birth. The third is the one that I've been told that I actually look like. That is Patrick Swayze. Well, a young Patrick Swayze.

(a)I'm a book whore. I'll read anything. I like Clancy, Ludlum, Baldacci, Neil Stephenson, and such.

(b)I like about any movie. I prefer action/comedy, but I'll take in subtitled movies and chick flicks too. Well, I'm not a big fan of horror.

(c)Boy, all my answers sound the same, "Just about anything." I'm not a big fan of Gangsta Rap or Country, but about everything else goes. I really like female vocalists, especially those on the alternative fringe.

(d)anything with cheese. Lots of cheese.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Well, I can't answer the question. If I answer all the "regular" things, food, shelter, geiger counter - then the answers will be booring. If I exclude the obvious, then it looks like I could do without the food and such.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, the Universe, and Everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I have a standing meeting with a group on Fridays where we do something physical (biking, hiking, skiing) then come back to a house for a LAN party. Pizza is often involved.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It is about time for me to trim my toenails.

You have a heartbeat (optional). Hmmm. That sounds desperate. Well, that's about right...
