My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
First off, I’m 49, and I am into astronomy, reading, music and exploring Vancouver and Portland. I employ a quick wit and love deep conversations. I've always been interested in personal development and working towards a deeper connection with others. I can also be quite quiet and introspective, yet filled with humor and wanting to express my inner and benevolent Merry Prankster.

Oh yeah, I'm not in Little Rock, Arkansas anymore if you're wondering what the deal is with my username. That's where I moved from.

I am looking for a woman who is warm and expressive and ready for emotional intimacy. Someone who also has a sense of purpose and engagement with the world. And a sense of humor about her own eccentricities (and mine too!) would be great as well. Playfulness is another characteristic I find appealing - I want to laugh a lot with you. Intelligence and depth of thought are an incredible aphrodisiac to me.

My hope is to find someone toy cherish and be cherished by, a life partner in the real sense of the word. That kind of feeling that comes out of a mix of strong attraction and friendship. When the initial fireworks wear off, I want there to be genuine respect and affection and desire.

But...I'm affectionate. I hug. And I kiss. And I will always want to do that, even ten or twenty years later. If you have a reluctance to touch or you're not affectionate, you should probably pass me by.

I can seem pretty intense because, for reasons I talk about a little further down in another part of my profile, I tend to focus my whole attention on whomever's speaking to me. My Myers-Briggs personality type is INFJ and it's very rare. Apparently I make up less than 1% of the population. A quote from my test said "Egalitarianism and karma are very attractive ideas to INFJs, and they tend to believe that nothing would help the world so much as using love and compassion to soften the hearts of tyrants." No wonder I love Buddhism and have the soul of a hippie.

By the way, I can't see who clicked that they like my picture because I don't have an a-list membership. Hopefully you'll drop me a line?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I moved here to make a change in my life and I'm in a really happy place now. I've worked hard and I'm ready to connect with another human being without dumping a lot of baggage and hangups on her. I haven't dated in a while as I did that. Like three years while. It'd be so nice to share the happy moments with some mutual adoration and laughter in the mix, wouldn't it? My spiritual life has always been a very important focus for me. But I'm not at all religious or dogmatic, I'm more of a Agnostic Buddhist than anything else. I am just compelled to wonder about what reality and existing is all about.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

My favorite foods are Chinese and Italian, but I'm doing a mostly vegetarian diet right now.

My favorite books are The Art of Happiness, most science fiction classic novels, anything by Stephen King or Richard Bach, also the latest issue of Astronomy magazine.

My favorite movies are independent productions, science fiction, musicals and anything that doesn't have that same old boring plot that most movies have today.

I like most kinds of music except for rap and jazz with too many notes.

I haven't watched broadcast TV in some time, I prefer to stream shows on my laptop. My favorites include The Big Bang Theory, Elementary and Masterchef. I need to start watching the newer episodes of Dr. Who again. Creepiest line from Dr. Who so far: "Are you my Mummy?"

Other favorites include 2001: A Space Odyssey, 80's music in general, A Christmas Story, Beethoven & Mozart, Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, Dune, Empire of the Sun, Green Day, It's A Wonderful Life, John Denver, Led Zeppelin, Neil Diamond, Queen, Scott Joplin, Tales of the South Pacific, The Beach Boys, The Hobbit, The Maltese Falcon, The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress, Stephen King's The Stand, The World According To Garp, Vanishing Point, What Dreams May Come, Kurosawa's 'Yojimbo' and so much more...

I was born with a hearing loss. I'm not deaf, I'm oh so very conversational and love music, too but it does affect my life in surprising ways. It's gonna take someone epic to get past that, but when they do, they're gonna wonder what the fuss was about. I am not defined by my disability.
