Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name's Erin. I just started working as a Special Education
teacher for the DOE. It's not an easy job, and every day has its
frustrations. But, I have some wonderful (and some
not-so-wonderful) students who make me remember why I show up to
work every day. I'm originally from a small town in Maryland, but
I've been in Queens since starting college, and I finally just
moved here permanently. The pace of life here is so much more my
I'm known for my love of all things English. When it rains, I wear
my Union Jack wellies. I love to watch English TV, either on BBC
America or online. It's been my dream to go to England for a very
long time, especially to explore where my family comes from. My
only problem is I'm an anglophile who doesn't like tea!
I've recently gotten into collecting vinyl, but not in a hipster
way (I know, the first sign of being a hipster is denying you're a
hipster, but trust me, I'm really not). It really is the best way
to listen to music, assuming the record is clean. I don't know much
about the value of albums or anything, but I love to wander through
record shops in the Village to see what I can find. It's a
wonderful way to pass a beautiful Saturday afternoon!
I'm drawn to things that make me laugh. I love a serious
conversation as much as anyone, but a person who can make me
genuinely laugh to the point where I can no longer breathe is a

Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Like I said before, I'm a Special Education teacher. I'm also in
grad school. So basically, I'm always in a classroom.
I’m really good at

I tend to be pretty loud and chatty. I'm not necessarily the most
outgoing person upon first meeting someone, but when I'm in a
comfortable setting, I could talk for hours about just about
anything (but I can listen, too!)
When it's cold outside, people tend to notice my moose hat

I'm a lover of music; it's probably the most important thing to me.
I listen to a pretty eclectic mix of things, but I'm also pretty
old school (my friends are impressed when I know a song recorded
after 1989). My true love is classic rock, and I'm kind of obsessed
with The Beatles (Paul's my favorite member/human, "Rubber Soul" my
favorite album). Few things please me as much as someone
understanding my musical/lyrical references.
Books: I don't read that often, but I have been known to lose
myself in a good book every now and then. I enjoy
biographies/autobiographies the most. I like the way
autobiographies, in particular, are narrated. They read like a
story I would tell to somebody more than a novel does, which makes
me feel like the author is talking to me; I like that. I recommend
reading Eric Clapton's "Clapton".
Richard III and Hamlet
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
I'm always reading random and interesting articles online.
I'm supposed to be reading about educational theory....
TV Shows: Big Bang Theory; Friends; The Mighty Boosh; Never Mind
the Buzzcocks; QI; Would I Lie to You?; Top Gear; Mad Men; Orange

Movies: The Beatles' movies ( You get major points if you've seen
them!); One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest; The Graduate; The
"Vacation" movies; Music and Lyrics; Titanic; Mean Girls;
Food: Italian; Chinese; seafood; things with Old Bay on them
(seriously though, try popcorn or French fries with Old Bay and
tell me it wasn't a good idea); Chicken and Rice from the halal
cart; good bagels and bialys; good pizza (and also kind of

It really depends. I'm happy relaxing by myself, having a movie

I have a lot of weird fears... For one, I'm afraid of doors that
