Things I love to do: (in any order)see indy/foreign, docs and thought-provoking drama. If there is brilliant comedy, so much the better!....read cross-cultural fiction, informative materials on traditional health/medecine, science, nature, politics, human idiosyncrasies, psychology, forensics, fashion, art, my Buddhist study materials :-)(it's fun!). Also enjoy some poetry, classical music (except opera, but I DID see Carmen recently and liked it, so am working on that), jazz (but not old smoothies or traffic sounds, more like Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, world music,(Zap Mamas are great), traditional Blues,Dylan, The Band, Led Zep (60,-70's, can't help it I'm a boomer, lol) pop, reggae, new, indy stuff, Roma, Bulgarian folk, etc., but not head-banger, country or klezmir...am missing the genes for those, somehow, although country IS from the HEART! Not into divas, famous Hollywood stars. Enjoy to the max ethnic foods/restaurants, people of all ages, races,socio-economic strata to experience, but prefer small gatherings over gala events for socializing unless I'm networking for busines, teehee!;-) I am a devout cuddler, love to cook and bake my own versions of things for others, NEED to be walking in nature hearing oceans, wind, songbirds, leaves, loons, etc. Biking and hiking are good too, as are canoeing and non-competetive sports like lap or lake swimming, weights....
I'd love to try kayaking, travel near and far, want to go to the far North and see the Lights, landscape, people. Am interested in supporting our indiginous peoples without interfering. Gee, I love a LOT of things and could go on and on but must retain some mystery here.
I guess I have high expectations, but I do want to be with a man who respects and cherishes me and takes care of his own inner and outer needs too. I am an inveterate sharer but not pushy about imposing things on anyone. I love a lively debate at times, but am not into ''winning''. I love to learn and my TV watching is mostly docs, news, and the Antiques Road Show (all versions but the British one's the best IMO.) You might say I'm a PBS CBC kinda woman. Give me The Hour, Bill Mahr, Charlie Rose, and I'm still waiting for a REALLY GOOD sitcom!
I dress casual-sophisticate for the most part. Like to be with a man who cares about his grooming and appearance but isn't vain. If you love the work you do, that is fantastic and if you have other male friends, that's good too. Be curious about me and the world around you, open to accepting me, and appreciating our differences as well as our affinities and we might just get something precious happening!
I am looking for a serious man who knows who he is, can give and take a ribbing and loves to be a lover. I might as well say that although given time I have learned in the past to love men I was not initially attracted to, that I prefer those who are not really overweight and who are a good bit taller than me. Fit is ideal, but don't expect me to keep up with tennis (yet), extreme sports and golf! I'm not a sports-watcher most of the time but baseball, hockey, gymnastics diving and skating are neat. Motorcycles are great as long as you're not an old biker type, and although fine cars can be a delight, I do not need my man to own a showpiece (or wear a hairpiece or comb-over, come to think of it). I love both fine antiques and high-tech, wild gardens looooooong empty beaches or rocky shores, deep forest, open praries, isolated lakes.......fresh air.
I am cuddlable, brainy, and goofy-pretty
