My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there! I am adventurous, curious, and love being outdoors. I'm also very down-to-earth, easy-going, and open-minded. I love visiting new places, trying new foods, and in general, just learning about and exploring the world and enjoying everything it has to offer. After living in four countries and travelling through over 40, I learned how to be happy and at peace, and that the most important things are friends and family. I graduated from Cornell double majoring in Engineering Physics and Computer Science, so expect some nerdy conversations! I am Canadian, but have lived in the US for a total of almost a decade.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently working on some exciting research-y projects in the tech world, which will hopefully be used my many people and improve their daily lives. Unlike a lot of people I've met in the tech industry, I highly value a work-life balance, so I make sure I have plenty of time to do fun things around here and am always up for a trip to explore somewhere new!

As for my life goals, after years of thinking, I've decided that life isn't about goals, but directions and balance in three categories. Everything I do goes to developing and balancing the following three categories:
1) Be self-sufficient. Either own a sustainable company or get enough assets to live off of investment income. I don't need much, just the basic necessities and enough to travel/backpack around.
2) Have close relations with family and at least a few very close friends. Start a stable, loving family of my own some day.
3) Travel, explore, and learn as much about the world as possible, along with its different cultures and points of view. The more I experience, the more goodwill I feel and become more at peace.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Problem solving and getting things done! I'm also really good at listening and understanding the points of view of others.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not really sure, but I've heard things like how I like to talk about travelling a lot and how I don't tend to talk about work very much, even with co-workers. Some also mention that I have a great smile and am always happy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I like pretty much any book that can provoke thought, give me a different perspective on life, or teaches me something new. I tend to switch off between reading fiction and non-fiction books.

I really like adventure movies, comedy movies, and documentaries.

I'm a fan of going to shows with friends. Musicals, orchestra performances, opera - I enjoy them all!

I have a wide taste in music - I listen to music to suit my mood. Recently, I've been listening to a bunch of indy rock and electroswing.

To me, the most important thing to me about food is variety! Usually I'll choose the thing on the menu I've had the least or haven't heard of before. I'm the kind of person who actively tries to acquire new tastes, so I love less common foods such as durian, stinky tofu, pickled herring, intestines, etc. If I meet a food I don't like, I'll go back to eat it more to understand why some people would like it!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Friends and family.
2) Being outdoors.
3) The prospect of exploring somewhere new.
4) Great and varied food.
5) Good beer and wine.
6) Letting my mind ponder life.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, and how to be truly happy. Places to explore next, things I can do to make this world a better place... if only people took the time to understand their enemies.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing with browsing the Internet or updating my travel journal. Having dinner or watching a movie with friends. On the road at the start of a weekend road trip. At a bar catching up with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've never wanted a relationship until about a year ago... hopefully I'm not starting too late!

If you are a genuinely nice and down-to-earth person, I'd love to meet you! I'm also up for adventure buddies to do fun things on the weekends or longer trips elsewhere!
