I am playful, gregarious, and big-hearted.
My Self-Summary
My life is overflowing with things I love. I live with wonderful
friends in a supportive small community in Berkeley, I get to play
with kids on a regular basis, and I am a grad student in seminary,
studying to become a radical and fun-loving Unitarian Universalist
minister. I grew up in the Bay Area and feel so at home here. I
spend a lot of my time these days reading and writing, but I like
to get outside as much as possible, even when it rains.
I'm queerspawn (my moms are gay), and I'm third generation queer
myself, and still trying to figure out what the word means to me.
I'm maleish, big bear, delicate fairy, and get excited by people
from butch to androgynous to femme.
I dance, play and sing with abandon, and sometimes I step on
people's toes. I have a theater background and I love creating and
watching performance. I've been described as a big cuddly teddy
bear, which usually I like.
I see myself still just beginning my romantic, sexual, intimate
journeys. I am curious about exploring many kinds of intimate
relationships, looking forward to lots of interesting and exciting
sex, and I am still molding and shaping how I identify in terms of
gender, sexuality, preferences, poly/monogamy, etc.
What I’m doing with my life
I teach afterschool classes in drama and outdoor games at a couple
of local elementary schools. I develop curriculum and facilitate
programming in schools with an amazing non-profit that does
experiential education around peace and diversity. I am teaching
the best sexuality curriculum out there to 7-9th graders. I spend a
lot of time studying and in class, learning tools, history, and
theology of progressive religious leadership. I also take plenty of
great classes outside of school, with organizations such as
InterPlay, a community art form for creative expression, and
Nonviolent Communication, one of my spiritual practices.
I’m really good at
Teaching,
laughing,
playing,
singing, telling
stories, relaxing in
hot tubs,
drinking
wine,
cooking,
acting silly, navigating the
bay area, making
kids laugh,
magic tricks, finding neat nearby
spots for
hikes,
most
games,
facilitating
meetings,
listening deeply,
creating performance, dressing up.
The first things people usually notice about me
I think people first notice that I'm real big, often fairly furry
and very warm. Soon after, they discover how charming and clever I
am.
On OkCupid, they sadly first notice that I am a "22 year old male."
And pretty much anyone I'd be interested in dating isn't interested
in dating a 22 year old male, categorically. Ah, c'est la vie...

favorites...Ehtiopian, Thai and Indian always make the top of my
list. Homemade lentil soup comes to mind, and really good macaroni
and cheese.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Finding fun and pleasurable ways for people to participate in large
scale social change.
Developing systems of group processes and decision-making that use
our whole bodies, and all our emotional capacities.
Where structures of oppression come from, and how we can liberate
ourselves and support each other.
What makes my heart sing and how I can get more of that with people
I love.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out to see a play, soaking at the Essex street hot tub, or singing
and cuddling with my housemates. Or, studying...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
In my sordid past I spent a week in a juvenile psych ward. I want
to put one of those buttons here that says "Ask me how!"
You should message me if
You're interested in seeing a play, coming over for dinner, going
on a hike...or just cuddling up and chatting about troubling
epistemologies and thea/ological reflection (kidding...unless, of
course, you want to!)
