Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a law student for the next two years.
Which means I've got a group of friends who are lovely and are
mostly 22-23 and haven't quite settled into who they'll be as
adults yet, and a group of lovely friends in their thirties who
like to talk paint samples and house renovations.
I'm kinda neither, I guess, so I'm looking to meet people who are a
little more grown up, but whose lives are a little more chaotic
I like terrible jokes, over-thinking everything, learning about
anything, dancing, and public speaking.
*Actually, I'm not really feeling the internet dating thing at the
moment. Feel free to drop me a line, but don't take it personally
if I never get back to ya?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Law school, right now. Small projects on the side, but mostly just
I'm volunteering at Youthlaw this year, which has been pretty
interesting. Doing pro-bono legal work for the under 25s.
I also tend to dabble in things. I did stand-up gig last year, and
I'm looking to do a bit of spoken word this year, and I keep
thinking I should start podcasting again, and I'd like to take up
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Words. Memory. Understanding complex systems. Public speaking. Noun
Dancing, kinda - I'm not naturally talented, but I went swing
dancing weekly for about three or four years. Wouldn't mind doing
some latin, sometime.
I'm bad at lists of things I'm good at, apparently.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My height, I guess? I'm about 6'2".

I don't know, favourites don't say as much about us as we sometimes
I mean, I love the Wire, but the scene everyone loves where Bunk
and McNulty are just saying varieties of 'fuck' annoys me for being
too cute. The scene at the start of that episode, however, where
they're moving the desk? One of my favourite scenes in any
So, some things I like, in no order, off the top of my head:
Joss Whedon's version of Much Ado About Nothing
The Hunger Games (movie)
the novels/short fiction of Annie Proulx
Hardboiled crime fiction (particularly James M Cain and Dashiel
Indian food (there's, like, only one good Indian restaurant I've
found in Melbourne, though, and it's in bloody Elsternwick)
Best of the 80s style tracks - (Wayward Son, Broken Wings, In the
air tonight, etc)
The Transformers comic 'More Than Meets the Eye' (think traditional
transformers, as if it were written by Tom Stoppard, and set mostly
in a bar in a spaceship)
And probably a whole lot more besides. I like to be interested in
things, so if I've seen it, I've got an in-depth over-long opinion
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee. My iPad. Stories. Sunshine. Dad jokes. Punctuation.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The law, and how to use it to make changes I want in the world.
Media/narrative of any kind.
Sexism, feminism, privilege, race, class, and so forth
What the best possible version of me would do right now.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably reading law materials, to be honest. But I do head out
with friends occasionally.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I cried a little last week while watching the tribute scene in the
first Hunger Games movie. On my iPad. While I was at the KFC in the
Crown Casino foodcourt.

You're actually open to the possibility of meeting in person. Cool
if that's not your bag, but for me it's kind of the point.
