Hi! I'm Thomas! Some folks call me odd, but I prefer to think of myself as "well-rounded". ;)

I love learning, hanging with my friends, and playing guitar. But most of all, I just love life!

It seems like 4 in 5 profiles on OkC start with the phrase "I'm really laid back", but I would definitely be lying if I said that! Still, I'm honest, I'm fun, and I really care about people. That should make up for a few of my weaknesses, right? :D

I'm in my fourth year of pharmacy school. Two more to go! Pharmacy comes with a pretty nice salary. $100-120k range. But for me, money wasn't a factor in my choice of career. What was? I'm glad you asked.

Yesterday I made a difference in the life of a cancer patient. Last week I helped an immigrant family afford their medications. The week before that I prevented an infant from receiving a drug that could have been deadly. These are the reasons I'm in pharmacy. Next time you need a hero, ask for the pharmacist.

Music: I like all kinds of music, from pop punk stuff like Yellowcard, Sugarcult, and Blink 182, to Christian music like Adie Camp, Nichole Nordeman, and Michelle Tumes. They're not totally different, but it makes me laugh that they share the same iPod. :D

Movies: I love Over the Hedge. It's cute, but it has a point. Stuff is never more important than family!

TV Shows: Big Bang Theory, NCIS, and American Dad are easy favorites.

Food: My top three are fajitas, pizza, and stir-fry, but there's a twist. All my food is vegan or veggie!

Books: Books are the true love of my life. You can only hope to be second best! My favorite fiction writers are James P. Hogan and Jules Verne, and I enjoy non-fiction topics like contemporary biography, faith, Soviet-Nazi relations, and public heath. A new favorite of mine is Shusaku Endo, who writes about spirituality in Japan, but hard to know whether to count his work as fiction or non-fiction.

Sometimes I think about how great it would be to have someone to share those special moments with.

I also think about how there are people hurting, both people I know personally and folks around the world, and what I can do to help them.

I'm probably practicing worship songs on my acoustic guitar. I recently got a nice electric guitar, and I also have a bass and a keyboard, so I could be playing one of those, too! To me, music is the key. Which instrument I'm playing is just a detail.

I'm still afraid of the dark! When I turn out the lights, I jump in bed as fast as I can! :D
