My self-summary
I'm a bit of an introverted dreamer with a taste for elegant, individual art and entertainment that captures my sense of wonder and sparks my imagination.

My parents are old hippies (consequentially I am vegetarian), but I'm also part goth, gamer geek, enjoy nature and animals (when I moved into my house the local stray cat joined me)... so I'm not sure that I strongly identify with any particular phyle, but am open to (and have a preference for) 'alternative' folks, in general.

In social gatherings I'll be the one lurking quietly on the sidelines, only occasionally interjecting with something dark, cynical or outrageous (think Jimmy Carr, Jack Dee etc.)... but in a one on one situation I'm much more talkative.

Like many, my musical taste is quite broad, but does not include following the current charts of commercial pop and r'n'b... My most frequently played music falls into the 'classic rock' genre, along with alternative, metal and the occasional bit of reggae.
What I’m doing with my life
My job is... convenient, I lack a burning ambition to do anything else and it pays the mortgage, so it will suffice for the while.
I instead divert my enthusiasm to the consumption and analysis of entertainment - mostly fantasy and sci-fi themed books, films, computer games and roleplaying games; eg I spent many hours at the beginning of this year in Skyrim and every tuesday night I have friends round for D&D.
I’m really good at
I usually get along well with animals and have a minor talent for fixing things - it seems whenever some bit of equipment goes wrong at work it ends up on my desk to deal with...

I've also been told that I'm a good listener and give 'the best' hugs, but I'm sure that's very subjective!
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably the 'evil twin' facial hair and receding hairline, but also that I'm quite well spoken and my sense of humour tends to delight in the outrageous.

The six things I could never do without
Oxygen.
An appropriately pressurised atmosphere.
Water.
Food.
The ability to move about.
My dark sense of humour ;)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe & everything... I enjoy having a good conversation about the realities of existence and coming up with far-fetched solutions to the world's troubles.
On a typical Friday night I am
...avoiding going out, 'cause it's Friday night - everywhere's going to be packed!

I have a small social cirlce of fairly close friends that I see sporadically and otherwise I only tend to go out to see something at the cinema, a gig or some other event that I'm particularly interested in... regular nights out drinking/partying haven't been part of my life for many years now.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Though I like the idea of total gender equality, I don't 'believe' in it on a fundamental, instinctual level.
For example: I was in a club and a transvestite slipped on the stairs infront of me, I reached out to stop 'her' from banging her head. But afterwards I was uncomfortably aware that if this person had been in their natural male 'persona', I probably wouldn't have been so quick to help.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You'd like to meet up at a cafe or pub for a casual chat - I'm not the sort of person that believes in getting to know someone through a protracted exchange of emails, meeting in person is a much surer and faster way to determine if we might get along together.
