I am curious, introspective, and laid back.
My Self-Summary
I'm a computer programmer who just moved back to Waterloo after
spending two years working in Toronto. I did my undergrad and
masters here, and it almost feels like I never left. I appreciate
(and occasionally revel in) the absurd side of life. I like hanging
out with my friends and playing team sports, but also often enjoy
spending a night home by myself.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently working at a new job that I'm enjoying. It's important to
me to have a job that I like and that challenges me, but I don't
want to work long hours or take my work home with me. I value my
free time very highly.
I’m really good at
Well, not filling out profiles about myself.
I have a good grasp of politics and world issues, since I'm
addicted to the news (but only in the written form; I can't stand
to watch the news). I have little natural athletic ability, but
enjoy playing sports regardless and have gained some skill at
soccer, floor hockey, ultimate frisbee, basketball, and badminton.
The first things people usually notice about me
It depends on the situation. Sometimes it's that I'm asking many,
many questions and other times it's that I'm being very quiet.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Favourite books: The Great Gatsby, The English Patient, If on a
Winter's Night a Traveler, The Chess Garden, Microserfs. I'm an
avid reader and could list many more favourites. I have a
particular interest in books that are somewhat surreal; hence my
love of Italo Calvino's books.
Music: Mostly indie rock, pop, and folk. My music tends to be
obscure and very weird.
Movies: I like a lot of independent films and like mainstream films
less than the average person. I put a lot of time into finding out
about unusual films which intrigue me ( I tend to look for new
music, books, and tv shows in the same manner).
Food: I used to be very picky but now I like a wide variety of food
and am willing to try pretty much everything once.
The six things I could never do without
Friends, a book to read, an internet connection, a good night's
sleep, and breakfast.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Many many things. How the human mind works, politics and current
events, why I love the books, tv shows, and video games I love.
Given a spare moment I'll probably start pondering something, even
if it's just when you should clean the lint trap in a drier (I'm
convinced that everyone should only clean it before you use the
drier, not afterward)
On a typical Friday night I am
At home relaxing. I often don't make plans for a Friday night, but
if my friends propose something, I'm there.
