reliable, farcical, and urbane
My self-summary Propose an edit
I'm originally from the Chicago suburbs. I am recently divorced
after 7 years of marriage. The short answer as to why is that we
married a bit young, then grew apart...painfully.
When I'm not at work, I tend to play World of Warcraft, or a good
RPGish console game. When I can muster enough people to form a
group, a good D&D campaign always brings a smile to my
face.
I consider myself a functional-nerd. I am just cool enough fool
strangers and pass among them, but when left to my own devices, I
enjoy video games, researching random things of interest on
Wikipedia, and putting my On-Demand History Channel to good
use.
On a side note, I have three cats and am rather fond of them, just
to warn anyone with allergies ahead of time.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Most of the past year of my life has been spent healing the wounds
inflicted by my divorce, as well as correcting financial mistakes
made while married. I typically work around 80 hours a week towards
this end, and have found a lot of success in erasing debt in this
way. I work with individuals with disabilities in both group home
and day program training environments.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
I like to consider myself contemporary Renaissance man, a
jack-of-all-trades. I claim mastery of none, but I'm relatively
competent when it comes to home repair, working older model cars,
fixing computers and setting up electronics. I also know that the
secret to getting a job done isn't in knowing exactly how to do it,
but rather where to find resources and information to do it RIGHT.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
I asked a few friends about this one, and I'm told you would be
likely to first notice my wit. Ironically, I'm well aware of the
un-witty nature of that statement.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
Honestly, reading books is rather boring to me. I'm more of an A/V
type of guy, I'd rather watch the movie. I understand that in doing
this that I lose a lot of the detail and even the overall intent of
the author. Unfortunately, it's rare for me to find the time to
actually sit still long enough to read. I am an avid fan of
newspapers and internet news sites, however. You're far more likely
to find my PSP at my bedside (Ha, as if I actually get to sleep in
my bed working 80 hours a week!) than a book.
When it comes to movies, I'm an equal opportunist, I generally like
most of what I see. A few of my all-time favorites include Donnie
Darko, American Beauty, One Night At McCools, Crash, Little Miss
Sunshine, Kill Bill, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, He Was a Quiet
Man, Butterfly Effect, and Southland Tales.
My taste in music is as random as a d100 in an earthquake (points
to any potential new friend who gets that joke). From Duran Duran
to Alice 'n Chains, I am a melodious cherry-picker. From looking at
my collection, you might believe Aerosmith was a one-hit wonder.
Seriously though, some of my all-time favorites include Collective
Soul, REM, and almost anything from the 1980's.
As for food, as one can see from my pics, I'm a fan. However, in
recent months, I've started slimming down, hitting the gym, and
otherwise striving to look and feel a little better. Generally
speaking, I'm a steak and potatoes kind of guy. I like to think I
know my way around the business end of a kitchen too.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
(1) My sense of humor.
(2) Adult animated cartoons (The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama,
etc.)
(3) The internet.
(4) My odd collection of music.
(5) Text messaging.
(6) Companionship (hence why I'm here!)
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
It largely depends on the company I'm keeping at the time. I enjoy
hitting the bars on occasion, but I'm just as happy at home with a
movie and a good cuddler.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
My life is a relatively open book. If you want clarification of
something about me, feel free to ask.
You should message me if Propose an edit
You should contact me if you are genuine and honest, and are
seeking a long term relationship with a reliable, caring man. I
have little time and patience for ignorance and closed-minded
individuals. If you are a lady still in that phase of life where
you prefer the asshole guy that won't respect you or treat you
well, please keep on moving, nothing to see here.
