Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Motivated at an early age by the inspirational story of the
Jamaican bobsled team (as immortalized by the classic Disney film
Cool Runnings), Maxfischerette decided to form the first Floridian
year-round outdoor ice skating pairs team. Naturally, the
perennially warm climate presented some challenges. It wasn't until
some rather unfortunate incidents with ice skate blades, though,
that the team decided to transition to interpretive dance on
pavement, sans melted ice.
Washington DC is now my stomping ground, though I'm originally from
Central Florida and am frequently back in the area. My career and
travels take me all over the U.S. and world, but at heart I'm an
energetic, inquisitive, beach-loving Floridian.
I've been in and out of DC for almost a decade (where does the time
go!?). I love the arts offerings, walkability, food scene, and
activities in the area - especially in the spring, and early
I'm the type that's always out and about exploring something:) I
love concerts and any type of random street festival, though I'm
not a fan of massive crowds. One could say I create my own
Healthy living, healthy eating, and staying active are all
important to me, as are keeping up with domestic and international
current events (I'm never too far from a news source). I love

I love good writing. I'm one of those folks who craves finding the
best way to express something. I become incensed by egregious
errors that make it into the Post. Words are a big part of me and
Theatre and dance: love them! Be it being an audience member or a
participant, they both contribute so much beauty to the world, and
to making me tick.
I'm also half-Dominican and embrace my Latin side whenever
possible. Sporadic hip-shaking dance parties included.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying it! Hopefully you are, too?
By day, I work in program management and communications on
environmental issues. By night, artsy things like an improv class

I also volunteer on a weekly basis at a local children's hospital.
The experience is inspiring and heartbreaking all at the same time,
though I'm glad to be a part of a team that gives incredible
patients and families a break from all they are enduring.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being inquisitive; being tenacious; looking on the bright/humorous
side of things; looking for ways to make things better, be it a
process at work or a personal skill; making 'ordinary everyday'
things extraordinary (or at least more interesting!); doing
thoughtful things for my loved ones; being kind.
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm gathering data from the field on this question, though
traditionally I've been told it's my smile and/or confidence.

is a big, fun, and wonderful part of my life. I love trying new
things (including BBQ'd baby octopus in Japan, and frog leg pizza
in France)! Oaxacan Mexican, Italian, and Mediterranean are a few
favorites types. I'm not a picky eater. Picky eaters rather perplex
me. Food sharing: yes please!

Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-Family and friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-Which DC cultural event to next attend;
-Where to next meet up with friends;
-Where to travel next;

-Why old-school '90 Nickelodeon is no longer on the air (thank gosh
