I live in Santa Cruz, and have been living here for most of the
last 7 years. I've got a cool job in Downtown Santa Cruz, where I
spend the majority of my life at this point. It makes it hard to
meet people. I'm also a bit shy around strangers, which doesn't
help.
In my free time, I like to work on
art projects (whatever kind,
doesn't matter much to me), work on my blog, or play records on the
radio. I went to school for
photography, so I have a camera
addiction. I also am pretty partial to
retro games, like old-school
Nintendo and
Sega. I'd like to
read more than I do, but I manage to get through a book or two a
month. I'm basically a nerd. It took me years to come to terms with
being a nerd, but I'm okay with it now.
I like
music a lot.
I listen to tons of different stuff. I grew up listening to
electronic
music and
hip
hop, but I'm a big fan of
reggae and
punk rock, too. That's what I do for a
living, I work for a music website. It's a fun job, I get to order
new music for the website.
I live in Midtown Santa Cruz with one roommate and my little
doggie, Bobby. I'm down to kick it, too. I like going out for
coffee or drinks,
and I love going out for
pizza or
Chinese Food (Peach Garden FTW).
Whenever I get the chance, I drive up to SF to visit my brother and
hang out in the city. I'm always up to go out and do something, but
I'm down to just stay in and hang out, too.
Spending my grocery budget on
punk rock records, midnight snacking, avoiding
prosecution, upping my croissant game, abiding by non-disclosure
agreements and cease-and-desist orders, getting rid of most of my
possessions, broadcasting on a pirate radio station no one listens
to (just like
The Adventures of
Pete and Pete)
I'm really good at returning high-fives (good accuracy). I kick ass
at old-school
arcade games like
Galaga and
Tempest.
People don't know what I'm talking about half the time, because I
make so many
pop-culture references. I am
hetero sexual though, remarkably. I'm also a little shy around
people I don't know. So people probably notice that. Then once
people get to know me, they realize that I'm not really shy at all.
Right now (while I'm writing this) I'm listening to
The Clash and
The Spits are next. I
really like a lot of the new
electronic music coming out
these days, too. I'm reading a cool book about a serial killer that
the publisher sent me to review on my blog. I'm excited about the
new seasons of
It's Always
Sunny in Philadelphia and
The Simpsons. My favorite thing on
TV right now is
The Venture Bros. I enjoy
rediscovering forgotten movies of the 80's and 90's.
I think I could get by with fewer than six things.
Weird stuff. I should write science fiction or something.
Going out for a couple drinks, it's unseemly for a single man to
stay home. Maybe playing records on the radio with some friends.
Maybe falling asleep at 6pm and not waking up until Saturday. It
kinda depends. I'd like to go out more than I manage to.
Message me for whatever. I'm a nice guy.
