My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
It's coming to an end soon! I've been traveling for work quite a bit since July, but the project I've been on seems to be tapering out! Well, my part, anyways.

Hi! Are you smart, independent, and interesting in ways that some people might just not get? Me too! I'm a fairly outgoing introvert (I like to be social, but I need my recharge time too), a bit of a science geek, a bit of a politics geek, a bit of a language geek, a bit of a fitness geek... let's just say I dabble. Who are you? :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Traveling for work a lot lately, but hopefully that's going to stop for a while soon. I'm looking forward to getting back into shape after a few months of 80 hour work weeks and flights once a week, and a bit of house hunting soon.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking, coming up with a plan to accomplish what I've decided to do, untangling complex issues. Seeing problems before they materialize and preventing them from happening (e.g. "Hmmm, I'm vacuuming the living room and that glass of wine on the coffee table seems awfully precarious...").

I am a little risk averse, and I tend to be a cautious decision maker
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my worksite beard right now. Don't worry, it's grown rather attached to me but I wouldn't say we're inseparable ;)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My all time favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo. I tend to vacillate between sci fi/fantasy novels and college textbooks.

Movies... good ones? I love cheesy kung fu flicks, especially the really old ones with awful dialogue. I go in for a bit of horror, a bit of sci fi/fantasy, not much romcom, not many action movies.

There are some shows I like, but I haven't seen a lot of the big popular ones these days: those seem like the sorts of shows to watch with people. I am binge watching Grimm these days, which is just a lot of fun.

I don't like country or rap or too sappy pop or too ragged heavy metal, but other than that it's on a song-by-song basis. My Pandora stations are: Oud Funk, Enya, No Light No Light, Yoga (perfect for napping :D ), Parov Stelar, George Frideric Handel, Celldweller & James Dooley, Malaguena Fantasia, Coriander, Lost (Chill Version), and Salsa. If that tells you anything then you have weird tastes. Too. :P

I'm walking a dietary tightrope these days. I'm trying to balance low(ish) carbs with low saturated fat. It can be tough getting enough calories without overshooting the sat. fat! Other than those guidelines anything goes, but especially Indian and Mediterranean foods.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Something to work on.
Some way to work out.
Something to think about.
Oh, and the internet. I really like that.
And something I have had to do without but don't want to: the human touch!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I've been thinking that it's easy to find someone who wants to do exciting things with you, but someone who makes the everyday amazing is a true treasure. But we can still do exciting things too :D
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I like to visit my parents for dinner on Friday evenings... no, that is NOT a date suggestion.

You don't smoke and you don't mind that I'm allergic to fuzzy pets. I love cats and like dogs, they just stuff me up :(.

You like watching thunderstorms and hiking (not necessarily at the same time).
