My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Active, intelligent, confident, friendly, introverted, almost stereotypically left-brained but with some small artistic aspirations. In most ways I'm exactly who I want to be... though I would like to be better at some things like playing the guitar and handstands. Still, those are more "what I do" than "who I am". I don't need to be completed, but I wouldn't mind meeting someone who can match me in some things and complement me in others.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Traveling a lot! I do a pretty technical job that relatively few people seem to be able to do, so I get tapped to go all over the place for a few days (and sometimes a week or two) at a time. Other than that I love to hike and run, and to do calisthenics and yoga. Keeping fit, getting more fit, is very important to me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Running, climbing, massages, cooking meat, solving problems, getting people to pay me a salary for being quite clever in unusual ways on short deadlines. Also sex, apparently. I guess all that working out is good for something ;)
The first things people usually notice about me

Probably my hair? I have my grandparents and probably a healthy amount of testosterone to thank for an early receding hairline. I like to think the second thing they notice is a keen eye and a confident manner, but behavior is generally less obvious at first glance.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I've been reading a few books lately: A Universe from Nothing, Predictably Irrational, The Assassin's Apprentice... I like a good variety.

Movies and shows tend to be a few horror films (Woman in Black was good, plenty of chill-up-the-spine moments), a fair amount of anime (about which I'm very picky), some good kung fu movies (which I'm not picky about at all), some BBC series, some science documentaries, and tv series from the 90s. There's a bunch of stuff I'd like to get into, lots of the more recent shows and movies, but I just can't work up the interest to watch them on my own. I need a Netflix buddy!

I tend to be pretty picky about music I listen to on my own but when I'm with someone else I like to let their taste choose the channel. No country, please, and no rap either (or, not much of either, there are some of both I like). And for crying out loud, no pointless, meandering piano pieces or lethargic renditions of Pacabel's Cannon!!

As far as food goes, I don't eat carbs. I eat a diet of some fatty protein with veggies. If that sounds freaky you can check out the Reddit Keto page's FAQ.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Something to work on! I hate downtime when I want to be working.
Interactions with people. I can actually do without but I really, really shouldn't. I get into an isolationist rut and I shouldn't let myself.
Some time alone. Just to recharge.
A good workout, frequently. I like to move :)
Antihistamines, unfortunately. Don't worry, I've got an allergist appointment in three months.
My laptop. Connected to the world, and all that.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Political and social issues. Workout routine design. Health. Science. How to get Pandora to stop playing pointless, meandering piano pieces.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
On Friday evenings I generally visit my parents for dinner - it's a nice chance to unwind and catch up after a busy week. I like having a tradition like that.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
There's supposedly a way to fall in love with anybody, and I kinda sorta want to try it. You answer 36 questions with someone and then stare into eachother's eyes for four minutes. I don't actually want to fall in love with just *any*one, but this could be fun to try, don't you think? Especially since I don't think I've ever really fallen in love before.
