My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there! How are you? Me? Oh, I'm pretty good.

I'm an introverted type, but at the same time I can be quite outgoing and am generally friendly at any time. I really like spending time with people but it drains some kind of reservoir. I need quiet time to refill my reserves. Nature is the best way I've found to recharge; a trail run, or a hike somewhere scenic with a camera. But really I'm constantly balancing my desire to be with specific people against my desire for everyone to go away and leave me alone.

I like to spend some good time exercising. I'm still working on developing my long term goals so I'm just working on being strong enough to do what I find fun. Running, rock climbing, swimming, hiking, the occasional race and one (so far :D ) Tough Mudder obstacle course, even just trying to get better at handstands; it's great to have a body! It's great to just move!! It would be great to meet someone who likes to move too, but I know that my activity level is a bit (maybe quite a bit) above and beyond what the average person does so I don't plan on demanding that anyone I spend time with keep up with all the stuff I do.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Traveling a lot! Working at a job that has me practically living in Western PA lately, but hopefully only through the end of December. I could drive back up to Syracuse every weekend but that takes a huge chunk out of the weekend so it might be every other weekend. Still, the work is fun and I'm getting better at it all the time. After this project I'll probably be on a variety of smaller projects all over the country, but only once in a while.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Running, climbing, massages, cooking meat, solving problems, getting people to pay me a salary for being quite clever in unusual ways on short deadlines. Also sex, apparently. I guess all that working out is good for something ;)
The first things people usually notice about me

An air of confidence. And friendliness, I hope. I suppose I do have a rather stern face, but I like to think I have smiling eyes that allow people to interpret the quirk in my lip as a smile. All that goes out the window when I'm wearing sunglasses so I try to smile more broadly then.

Also I'm balding pretty well. From what I've read it might have something to do with having a lot of testosterone, but it's also just a fact of my genetics. It is what it is, and I'm not particularly heartbroken about it. But at least I can promise I'll never do anything as humiliating as a comb-over!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

These days I've been enjoying streaming videos on Netflix and Crunchyroll and (to a lesser extent) Amazon Prime on my PS3 (wait, that thing plays games too???). I don't tend to watch the big popular series like Game of Thrones or Walking Dead, mostly because I think I'd enjoy them more watching them with someone.

Food... I eat a fair amount of fat and protein. And virtually no carbs. I'm not really trying to lose weight anymore but a ketogenic (very low carb, medium protein, fill in the rest with fat) diet has served me very well in everything from weight loss to correcting my formerly high blood pressure and even eliminating frequent heartburn. The best part about my special diet is that I will NOT be pushy about it! I know there's nothing more irritating than someone who won't stop trying to evangalize you to their diet! Also, sometimes I cheat on it and pork out on ice cream and donuts :D.

I can be pretty picky about music. I don't like all of any genre, even if I like most of some. There are a few Country and Rap songs I enjoy but in general I avoid those genres. I like groups like Muse, Florence & the Machine, Linkin Park (Reanimation album is fun!), a little Disturbed, Armin van Buuren, Beirut, ATB, Bob Marley, Cold Play, Flogging Molly, E Nomine, Kasabian, Massive Attack, Niyaz, Philip Glass, The Chieftans, etc. I really enjoy a wide variety of classical music as well by composers like Holst, Puccini, and of course the normals (Beethoven, Mozart, etc). I also like movie/tv/game/anime soundtracks like Lord of the Rings (and the Hobbit movie soundtracks, I suppose), Cowboy Bebop, Skyrim.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A comfortable change of clothes.
Something to work on.
A chance to get a really good workout in.
Computer/internet.
Some time with other people.
Enough time by myself or doing what I really love to recharge from spending time with other people.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Political and social issues. Workout routine design. Health. Science. Dealing with my student loan debt.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
On Friday evenings I generally visit my parents for dinner - it's a nice chance to unwind and catch up after a busy week. I like having a tradition like that.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I suppose this is the part that might be a deal breaker for a lot of women: I don't really think I fall in love. I might like you a lot, I might have a crush on you, I might want to spend all my time with you, but in the end I don't think it ever really can turn into some kind of Hollywood brand magic lovey-dovey happily-ever-after feeling.

Also, I like to wear exciting Under Armor ;)
