My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
On a bit of a hiatus from OKCupid; traveling for work. I'm sure I'd love to meet you, I just won't be around much for a few months.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working hard, exercising hard, not forgetting to play a bit. I program industrial control systems (which is like getting flash tours of cool equipment all the time :D ) which involves travel sometimes but I get to work from home a lot too. I take full advantage of that... in a still-getting-work-done kind of way. I've been building up my hiking and running distances more than trying to get particularly faster. I'm also studying: brushing up on my languages, refreshing on some basic topics and trying to work towards research I'd like to do.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Pullups? Troubleshooting complex systems? Picking up new skills, mental or physical (I can Salsa now!... a bit...). Problem solving. Cuddling too. I've been complimented on that :P
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It seems like I might come off as a bit aggressive-looking. I don't feel like I am; I'm actually very friendly despite being somewhat of an introvert. It's just that I have Resting Bitch Face :P
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My all time favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo. I tend to vacillate between sci fi/fantasy novels and college textbooks.

Movies... good ones? I love cheesy kung fu flicks, especially the really old ones with awful dialogue. I go in for a bit of horror, a bit of sci fi/fantasy, not much romcom, not many action movies.

There are some shows I like, but I haven't seen a lot of the big popular ones these days: those seem like the sorts of shows to watch with people. I did watch all the Doctor Who on Netflix, but I'm waiting for the current Doctor to show up there to binge watch that too :D.

I don't like country or rap or too sappy pop or too ragged heavy metal, but other than that it's on a song-by-song basis. My Pandora stations are: Oud Funk, Enya, No Light No Light, Yoga (perfect for napping :D ), Parov Stelar, George Frideric Handel, Celldweller & James Dooley, Malaguena Fantasia, Coriander, Lost (Chill Version), and Salsa. If that tells you anything then you have weird tastes. Too. :P

I'm walking a dietary tightrope these days. I'm trying to balance low(ish) carbs with low saturated fat. It can be tough getting enough calories without overshooting the sat. fat! Other than those guidelines anything goes, but especially Indian and Mediterranean foods.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Something to work on.
Some way to work out.
Something to think about.
Oh, and the internet. I really like that.
And something I have had to do without but don't want to: the human touch!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Fitness, what I should be doing now, what else would look good on my walls :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Making dinner in? Going out somewhere? Visiting my folks for dinner? Maybe you'd like to help decide this one ;)
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You really should just message me, that's all. Unless you smoke... that's kinda nasty. But especially message me if you're into health and fitness stuff and can geek out about something fun. Strong and self-sufficient are definite pluses. So say 'hi'! Or 'poo'. Yeah, 'poo' is definitely funnier.

But really, you should message me if you want someone to get excited about thunderstorms with.

By the way, I think I should mention I'm allergic to cats and dogs, and also just about to spend most of the summer out of town for work.
