My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey, my name is Mark.

The majestic panda is my spirit animal.

Here's short list of things I enjoy/like:

Books, food, humor, bacon, easygoing people, simplicity, respect, travel, history, Bill Murray, corny jokes, psychology, video games, movies, dogs, beer, kindness, discussing - not arguing, women in red lipstick, whiskey, having a lazy night in, cheese, music, education.

Now a few things I'm not as fond of:
Raw onions, entitlement, selfishness, reality TV, intolerance, Twilight, people that can't stand a little bit of silence, talking on the phone, most country music, most rap music, traffic, being serious all the time.

These are not exhaustive lists; they're just a taste. If you're reading this and thinking "I hate this person," I'm sorry you feel that way; I understand, but you're wrong and I hate you back.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm doing the grad school thing. I've been conditionally accepted to the psychology Ph.D. program at UTSA. My research bores most people. I'm also a teacher; I teach 2 undergraduate courses. So, yes, I'm poor.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
1. Casino blackjack - every time (once) I've walked away a winner.
2. Trash talking when I'm destroying you at Words with Friends.
End of list - that's all I'm good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My glorious beard or my soulful browns.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies: I like comedies of all shapes and sizes, especially Will Ferrell. Anything by Mel Brooks is awesome. Dramas, Action, Horror (although I will make fun of you if you get scared). I even like the occasional foreign film. I'm not really that picky

Books, so many wonderful books... Here's a few: Most things by Cormac McCarthy and Charles Dickens, Anything by Ernest Hemingway or F. Scott Fitzgerald, Vonnegut. Charles Bukowski is a humorous, vulgar Hemingway and I love it. To Kill a Mockingbird, The Catcher in the Rye, The Portrait of Dorian Gray. I'm always looking for new recommendations.

Music: My taste in music is pretty much limited to rock (there are a few artists/songs from other genres that I enjoy, though), but within the rock genre my tastes are pretty eclectic.

I've had a (my age here) year love affair with food. I'm not picky.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, Internet, Frank's Red Hot sauce, humor, Netflix, and Pizza.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The usual: destiny, fate, the inextricable relationships in our lives that are neither accidental nor somehow in our control, what to have for lunch, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Grading papers, writing a paper, emailing my students who are freaking out about a paper (just teacher/student things), or taking some much needed relaxation time (this invariably involves beer and/or Jack Daniel's).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I feel like getting the chili pepper on Rate My Professor would validate all of my life choices.
