I am Brainy, Eccentric, and Enthusiastic.

My Self-Summary

Insert the obligatory comment about how evil and nasty it it to write these things.

I’m pretty sure I’m unique (It sounds nicer than weird or odd) I don’t tend to get embarrassed and have quite a broad range of little quirks. It’s hard to give examples but I tend to slightly stand out in most groups that I’m in.

I don’t really drink, I’m not teetotal by any means but normally the only alcohol I have is a glass of wine with certain meals, and I generally don’t get drunk. The main reasons for this is that I don’t have a huge number of inhibitions when sober and to be honest I tend to get more depressing after drinking.

I have a reasonable level of fitness, I'm underweight (Although by some stupid system of deciding obesity by neck width I am obese- Aparently due to this I would make a good racing driver - I think me getting a dragon is more likely.) and fairly toned.

Most of my hobbies either fall into the category of Geeky activities or Outdoors activities. With any inclusive list however has the innate problem that to be honest I tend to have more interests than time. So I tend to end up with a huge number of activities most of which I don’t do that regularly.
The main ones probably are Yoga (Ashtanga or Vinyassa in case that means anything), Roleplaying (Tabletop or Live-action), Walking (And I’m beginning to head into Mountaineering), Kayaking, Reading.

I really enjoy travelling and have just came back from my first big trip(one longer than two weeks). Last summer I have been travelling round New Zealand on my own for two months which was a completely amazing experience. Although I won’t go into it as it could be a huge tangent.

Oh yes and I do have a tendancy to just keep ranting untill someone says something. So I'm sorry if I have went on a bit.

What I’m doing with my life

I’m presently a student at Warwick university studying ‘Biological sciences with Virology.’ Yeah the degree title seems to sound a lot more intimidating than the course actually is. To give some perspective around a third of the people doing Biological sciences at my uni seem to be failed Medicine students. Now personally I didn’t try to get into Medicine, partially since I have the disappointing feeling they don’t actually let you act like House and I’m not the worlds greatest fan of blood.

I’m really good at

I'm one of those annoying people with a natural apptitude for what I study.

Cooking (Okay to be more specific baking, and an oddly decorative variety - My last big one was a 3-D cake in the form of a Darlek)

And I'll stop their because I'm feeling a bit to arrogant already. (Although I must say it's a fairly odd and unrepresentative set.)

The first things people usually notice about me

This is actually adapted from people's comments:
Well apparently I look like Jesus (Or at least look like what the white European artists painted him looking. The historical Jesus probaly looks nothing like me.)
People also quite often say I look like famous scientists, there again the list includes Darwin and most people have the picture of the bald guy with the really impressive beard in there head when saying that. To be honest I believe the reality is that I don't look particularly like anyone else.

Another note is my enthusiasm to do Karoke

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

To be honest with lists of favourites I always feel a bit like I’m making them up a bit as I go along. So I’ll just give some idea of the vague area and then give some examples of ones I really liked.

Music wise: Well mainly I dislike rap, most other things I seem to grow to like. It's also has the property of leaping from really famous songs (Tainted Love, Billy Jean, The Time Warp) to the completely obscure stuff that comes out of the corners of the internet and off anime without mush in the middle.)

Books: The majority of what I read are fantasy novels, although I read quite a bit of Sci-fi and Classics. Oh yeah and Conspiracy? books (I’m really not sure if that’s the correct genre name Dan Brown sort of style)
Some examples: The picture of Dorian Grey (I just really like that book), Pratchet, Anne MaCaffrey, L.E.Modestt (Ecspecially the Parafaith war) and Katherine Kerr.
As for non-fiction: Extended Phenotype, the Symposium (Although I must admit such is since it amuses me.)

TV: this is far simpler presently it's anything vaguely relating to Dr Who, House as well as shows like Have I got News for you, Top Gear, Mock the Week and Never mind the Buzzcocks.
Previously anything by Joss Wheldon, Star Trek, Both Stargates and Bones.

Food: I'm a huge fan of seafood in general, (Mussels in particular) also Bolagnese Sauce, and good bread. Dessert wise I like most things with chocolate or berries in them.

Computer Games: I'm a big fan of strategy games, such as Civilisation, Dawn of war, Master of Orion 2, the total wars series etc. I also quite like roleplaying games although I haven't found as many which draw my attention recently, especially since the whole MMORPG craze began (I don't do drugs of any type.)

The six things I could never do without

A laptop with internet access,
Books, they still are my prefered meathod of escapism
Interesting people to talk to,
Family,

On a typical Friday night I am

Generally on a train going somewhere, generally back to Coventry to do things at Warwick University. Either that or to visit my eccentric Aunt on the south east coast. Occasionally I manage to get somewhere in time to do some Vampire roleplaying, so probably not the exciting answer that was intended here.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm generally an open person, Nearly anything you ask me I will answer. I do have two secrets but that's because of the desires of the other people involved.

When I was young I poured either tea or coffee over myself I can never remember which, which unforetunately didn't give me some comedy set of superpowers*. Instead it left me with a scar and a fear of tea and coffee (but not green tea)

*That being said if it did I would hardly reveal my secret identity on the internet

You should message me if

Well that you've got this far and actually thinking about it is a good start. Then if I can weed out messages using text speak, people who already dislike me and people twice my age looking for casual sex I'm probaly good. But a incomplete list for the sake of it.

** You realised that my three words were chosen to spell the word B.E.E

**You are interested in relatively intellectual conversation. (I know it's a bit Cliche)

**You want someone to help you go shopping for the perfect Cloak.

**Oh and finally if you have a working tardis and are looking for someone to travel though time and space with and have unresolved sexual tension with. I thought I'd save the most important one for last.
