I seriously thought that I filled all this information out
previously! No wonder people keep looking at my profile and not
sending me messages. . . I was beginning to get a complex!
So, first and foremost, I can be a bit absent-minded at times. Wait
-- what was I going to say?
In all seriousness, I'm a just a normal 40-something guy. My life
has been more than a little bit crazy over the last several years,
but I'm now getting back out there and dating again.
What I’m doing with my life
There was a time in my life where the answer to this question
would've been "working. And working. And then working." Nowadays,
however, priorities have changed a bit. I'm a single dad, so I
spend my time chasing kids. And working.
I do find time to go to the gym 3-4 times per week, and I'm making
an effort to get out more often socially (although this involves
getting a sitter, and all the associated guilt of leaving my kids
when I should be at home with them). Being single at 41 is
definitely different than it was at 21 . . .
I’m really good at
Hmmmm. Working (I'll tell you what I do later, if you're curious).
Being both dad and mom to my kids. Making people laugh (usually at
me, but occasionally with me). Cooking, in general. Making
cocktails. Fixing things. Functioning on very little sleep (I'm not
only good at this, but I'm presently doing it!).
The first things people usually notice about me
To be honest, I do my best not to be noticed for anything in
particular, except that I'm generally well put-together and
appropriate. I guess I would say my sense of humor, or my attention
to detail. Let me think about it and get back to you . . .
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I don't really have much time to read these days (haven't
for several years, actually), so I'll just fall back on the stuff
that I was required to read in college. Not that I actually
remember college . . .
Movies: I prefer "classic" movies -- I haven't actually been to a
movie theater in years. I'm partial to Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable,
Cary Grant, Lana Turner . . . you get the point.
Shows: I don't really watch much T.V., unless you want to count
"Angelina Balerina," "Sesame Street," or the various kids shows on
Nickleodeon. I enjoy watching news/political programs and
documentaries when I can. I tend to talk to the T.V. quite a bit
when it's on -- I've been told that watching television with me is
quite an amusing experience . . .
Music: My tastes are pretty eclectic, and can be summed up in two
words: no country.
Food: Just about anything. I love to cook, as well!
The six things I could never do without
Well, I could never do without my kids, so that's two things (Thing
One and Thing Two, I guess!). Otherwise, I don't think that there's
much I couldn't do without if I had to.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why I can almost always win when playing solitaire with actual
cards, but I can never win when I'm playing it on my computer. Why
flammable substances are sometimes referred to as "imflammable."
What the "33" on the back of a Rolling Rock bottle means.
See, I'm deep. . .
On a typical Friday night I am
At home recovering from the week and looking forward to sleeping in
a little bit!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask away . . .
You should message me if
Anything I've said here resonates with you, or if you're curious
about me and would like to know more. I'm a bit hesitant to reveal
too much personal information on a site like this for the whole
world to see, but I'm happy to provide more details (and pics, of
course) if you're interested.
