My interests are too many and varied to really count and probably verge on the schizophrenic in how random they are. I love to read, and will sometimes lose myself entirely to that, getting caught up in books, stories, and such for hours on end before coming up for air. I'm a huge fan of film, too, from the great to the terrible, to the terribly hilarious. Bad movies are just as fun as good ones. Seriously. When the muse descends, I can even be something of a writer, though work often keeps me from really spending any time doing that these days. I confess to being something of a nerd, and I enjoy everything from the odd comic to video games. I even love Homestuck, and if you know what that is and like it, I'll probably love you forever.
So, I suppose the best thing out there in the world that I could ever hope to find is a nerdy girl. If acronyms like MMO, RPG, FPS, and so on have positive connotations to you, then you're probably an awesome person and I want to meet you. If you can talk about things that have "star" in them (Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Jesus Christ Superstar) then I probably love you. Have you ever wanted a personal AI to handle all your correspondence (like this stuff)? Then we have something to talk about! Do you get excited about geeky stuff that you are worried people may laugh at? Well, so do I. Talk to me about it!
So what else...I'm from the North, and that attitude and disposition has stuck with me. Sure, that means I'm really up front and blunt, but it doesn't mean I'm wholly insensitive. On the contrary, I don't much buy into the machismo nonsense of being male, so I tend to be pretty expressive, if quiet. My indoorsy interests are kind of rounded out by a love of camping, being out on water, traveling, and generally exploring places that I probably oughtn't to, or that I at least haven't been to. I would love an excuse to go dig my bike out of storage...wherever I put the damn thing.
Oh, obviously once I get started I tend to go on. If you're still reading this, then you've noticed that. I confess to being somewhat awkward, particularly at first, in meeting people. Not for lack of desire, just for the sake of being a bit on the shy side.
One final and, I think increasingly important note now that I live in the South. I...don't really do religion. I'm not against faith and spirituality, and I respect people's right to believe what they want, but I don't do it myself. If religion is something that you can't do without, then we can certainly be friends as long as you respect my lack of belief the way I respect your belief, but probably not more!
So, if you're looking for an easygoing, fun-loving but somewhat shy-at-first nerd, then read on. I'm always up for a fun adventure, or just an awesome conversation about something interesting or nothing at all!
