My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So, let's see, to start I'm somewhat shy, seriously sarcastic but seldom serious, sometimes sardonic, and something of a snarky citydweller, and supposedly somewhat skittish. All in all, I'd say I'm more the shy, bookish type than the partying extrovert. That's not to say that I don't enjoy getting out, as I'm not a total homebody. Also, for those interested in objective assessments, I'm INTJ.

My interests are too many and varied to really count and probably verge on the schizophrenic in how random they are. I love to read, and will sometimes lose myself entirely to that, getting caught up in books, stories, and such for hours on end before coming up for air. I'm a huge fan of film, too, from the great to the terrible, to the terribly hilarious. Bad movies are just as fun as good ones. Seriously. When the muse descends, I can even be something of a writer, though work often keeps me from really spending any time doing that these days. I confess to being something of a nerd, and I enjoy everything from the odd comic to video games. I even love Homestuck, and if you know what that is and like it, I'll probably love you forever.

So, I suppose the best thing out there in the world that I could ever hope to find is a nerdy girl. If acronyms like MMO, RPG, FPS, and so on have positive connotations to you, then you're probably an awesome person and I want to meet you. If you can talk about things that have "star" in them (Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Jesus Christ Superstar) then I probably love you. Have you ever wanted a personal AI to handle all your correspondence (like this stuff)? Then we have something to talk about! Do you get excited about geeky stuff that you are worried people may laugh at? Well, so do I. Talk to me about it!

So what else...I'm from the North, and that attitude and disposition has stuck with me. Sure, that means I'm really up front and blunt, but it doesn't mean I'm wholly insensitive. On the contrary, I don't much buy into the machismo nonsense of being male, so I tend to be pretty expressive, if quiet. My indoorsy interests are kind of rounded out by a love of camping, being out on water, traveling, and generally exploring places that I probably oughtn't to, or that I at least haven't been to. I would love an excuse to go dig my bike out of storage...wherever I put the damn thing.

Oh, obviously once I get started I tend to go on. If you're still reading this, then you've noticed that. I confess to being somewhat awkward, particularly at first, in meeting people. Not for lack of desire, just for the sake of being a bit on the shy side.

One final and, I think increasingly important note now that I live in the South. I...don't really do religion. I'm not against faith and spirituality, and I respect people's right to believe what they want, but I don't do it myself. If religion is something that you can't do without, then we can certainly be friends as long as you respect my lack of belief the way I respect your belief, but probably not more!

So, if you're looking for an easygoing, fun-loving but somewhat shy-at-first nerd, then read on. I'm always up for a fun adventure, or just an awesome conversation about something interesting or nothing at all!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work with students in the high school system, helping to encourage them to go to college and get a job or an education. I hesitate to use the words motivational speaker, but a lot of what I do involves a little of that. Basically, education is something I've always been passionate about, and I work to help kids who don't think they've got a chance find whatever it is they're good at, and a way to pursue it. It eats up a lot of my time and energy, but I'm very serious about it and I love it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, memorizing stuff (seriously), being unabashedly sarcastic, trivia, video games, and headspace-y things!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The fact that I'm 12 feet tall, sparkle in sunlight, speak in Aramaic, have one black angelic wing, have hair made of pure woven gold and platinum, and carry a glowing bidet. Or so people tell me.

...seriously, how do I know what *you* notice about *me*?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorite books? I have too many! Anything science fiction or fantasy, anything Shakespeare, and, well, I like a huge array of books and it's hard to narrow anything down beyond that!

Favorite movies isn't a lot easier but a few examples would be The Shawshank Redemption, Indiana Jones (all of 'em), Secondhand Lions, The A-Team, They Grey, The Breakfast Club, and so many more! I really enjoy movies of most kinds, both domestic and foreign.

Favorite shows is easy! Deadwood, John from Cincinnati, Archer, Angel, and Bones are some of the only TV shows I have liked in the last few years. I'm not a big TV watcher, so I'm a bit out of touch with those things.

As to music, I'm a really big dubstep and alternative fan. Almost anything in the electronica genre, as well as rock, and various classical and instrumental music are great!

I love Italian, Asian, and Mexican food more than anything else, really. Much as I love burgers and the like, I would much prefer curry, pasta, and so on!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Computers/The Internet
2. Gadgets
3. Books
4. Video Games
5. Movies
6. Friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Vidya games, Homestuck and how it has more ships than the Spanish Armada, where the next fun will be, sex (damn you, Y chromosome!), how H. P. Lovecraft's work can be applied to everyday situations, the impending zombie apocalypse, where all the nerds like me are hiding, how long I could make this list...

How quickly I will die during said zombie apocalypse given that I live right by a hospital.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, going to the movies, or ordering some food and hanging out at home with people to watch movies, play games, or just relax.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sometimes fall asleep in the shower...standing up.

You are also a complete geek, and enjoy geeky things!
You know where "and that's how you get ants" comes from and it makes you laugh.
