I see alot of people around here starting off their profiles with a list of labels, as if they're checking off items on a personality checklist. I think I that kinda misses the point; if you're going to list off your "ingredients" as if you're a cookie-cutter generic store product, then you're probably a cookie-cutter person.
I narrow my eyes at the whole "You must be above this match percentage" thing, as well. For one, alot of the match questions asked here are completely irrelevant and have little to do with compatibility; secondly, this goes back to the whole "bland store product" thing, again. You can only know a person and whether or not that person is suitable for you by speaking to him or her. If you rely on some arbitrary number to pre-categorize people for you, that speaks volumes about how much you value actual human interaction, as well as how interesting of a person you are, yourself.
My interests range from programming to video games (And video game development) to movies to animation to comic books (Especially of the DCU variety) to the internet to politics to transhumanism. I identify as a socialist and an anarchist, politically; you can call me a leftist, if you like, but I'd rather not be associated with liberalism. I am typically highly skeptical of liberals (Which are not the same thing as "leftists," or are even located on the left on any global political compass, mind you) for insisting that "change" and "progress" must come through the state, and for clinging on to the capitalist notion of a "free market." An inherently broken system cannot be fixed from within, and I'd love to see that broken system replaced with a mutually beneficial to all gift economy one day.
Transhumanism is a major part of my philosophy. Some people tend to spread the lie that transhumanism is the ideology of the elite, but that is absolute garbage. Transhumanism and post-scarcity/classless society are intrinsically tied together, and the rate at which technology is claimed by the open source movement alone ensures that H+ will not be reserved for the wealthy alone.
