arty, vague, and aimlessly wandering
My self-summary Propose an edit
Currently doing Honours in Art History.
I paint (sporadically). I knit (also sporadically and very slowly).
It's granny-like but very addictive.
I love: music, music, more music, art, artists, photography,
watercolours, books, the colour and texture of yarn, trees
(especially in winter when they're bare), forests, mountains, good
food, peace and quiet, stars...
I am dealing with CFS and occasional depression. I think I'm doing
ok, but I'm probably not.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Studying... but mostly procrastinating. Trying to learn more about
myself and become a better person, and trying to stay creative and
happy.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Various stuff... art and writing essays and letters and basically
procrastinating... I think I'm a good listener. I'm a fairly quick
learner, so I could potentially be good at a lot of stuff... maybe.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
Quiet, small, reserved, aloof.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
Books: I have read a lot over the laste few years, due to majoring
in Literature at uni. I enjoy Tolkien, books illustrated by Alan Lee, the Harry Potter books,
some other fantasy
like Ursula le
Guin, as well as some Jeanette Winterson, Douglas Adams, 'The
Sheltering Sky' by Paul Bowles, 'Reading in the Dark'
by Seamus Deane, 'Authenticity' by Deirdre Madden, 'Like Water for
Chocolate' by Laura Esquivel, and much more. I've read a lot of
Paulo Coelho and D.H. Lawrence. I enjoy books that take me away to
a different world.
Movies: LOTR,
The
Princess Bride (loved that one ever since I was little),
The Crow,
Amelie... I don't
have a lot of favourite movies...
Music: Jeff
Buckley, The
Smiths, Jeff
Martin/The
Tea Party, Radiohead/Thom Yorke, Ride, Nick Drake, VAST, Tori Amos, Massive Attack, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Björk, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Katatonia, Tricky, anything involving the genius of
Mike Patton,
Dead Can
Dance, José González, Muse, Portishead, Gotye, NIN, Afro Celt Sound System,
iOTA, Led Zeppelin,
Smashing
Pumpkins, PJ
Harvey, Soundgarden... I like a lot of
different music, but I despise anything that is overly commercial
and mainstream.
Food: Healthy food. I'm currently meat-free.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
