I read everything. Newspapers, blogs, pamphlets, novels, poetry,
drama, philosophy, historical ephemera, cereal boxes, you name it.
Some particular favorites are: Henry Miller (This guy has his own
shelf in my home. If you love HM we have things to talk about),
Larry McMurtry, Cormac McCarthy, Willa Cather, Joseph Heller, e. e.
cummings, D.A. Levy, Mark Twain, Padgett Powell, Lawrence Durrell.
Due to my scholastic interests I also read a lot of non-fiction,
including tons of academic history.
It took me a while to come to terms with it, but I really dig
television. It's sort of the popular art-form of our generation,
and that's ok. I watch most of it when I can, and have particularly
enjoyed: The Wire, Father Ted, The X-Files, John from Cincinnati,
Game of Thrones, Trailer Park Boys, among numerous others.
As for music, I prefer it be made with instruments. After that, I'm
game. I listen to mostly that might be called Americana, but I love
everything from Chopin to The Pharcyde. I love much of non-pop
