Welcome to the niche corner.

I could fill this profile with generic fluff, but I'll come right out and admit that I'm pretty much a huge geek. I play video/computer games, I watch anime and Doctor Who, and I love reading comics/sci-fi/fantasy/etc. I like thinking and talking about odd and eclectic topics, wry and witty humor, and being able to steer discussions from banal to intellectual and back again just for the fun of it. I like trying to be quirky (as much as I would love it, I don't think I'm wealthy enough to be referred to as "eccentric" yet... maybe in time). I am a fan of trivia games, I've been involved in theatre, and I've tried my hand at writing fiction (generally failing miserably).

I don't know what all to say about myself, but the above is, I guess, me "in a nutshell" - a sampling of some of my weird and wonderful likes and interests. That having been said, I don't think these 10 textboxes can wholly summarize or encapsulate a person, so if you want to know anything about me or if you just want to talk, send me a message and let's chat!

I recently (in May 2012) graduated from college with a masters degree in Engineering and Management (after earning a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering the year prior). After that, I moved from Cleveland, where I lived for the past 5 years while going to school, to the Madison area. I'm loving it here so far!

Currently, I'm working for a medical software company as an Integration Engineer -- basically, I deal with how our software communicates and interfaces with other programs and systems. It's a great job and an excellent work environment. I feel that it's the start of a good career!

...a lot of things! Things I enjoy doing (that I hope I'm good at) include: cooking, thinking logically, making people laugh, trivia games, creative writing, acting, problem-solving, and so forth. I also feel that I'm fairly good at my job, and computer use/programming/repair in general. I'm a good listener, and good at making others happy (especially those I love!). I have many more talents, but I can't recall them all or list them all here, so ask if there's anything you're cutious about or interested in!

...is quite a difficult prompt to answer! I can't know what people first notice about me, and it's not something that comes up in conversations ("You know, I'd have to say the first thing I noticed about you was..."). Nevertheless, I know that I can be a little quiet and shy when first meeting new people, so I would imagine that's one of the first things someone might notice about me. And soon I'll warm up to the person(s) I'm meeting, and they'll (hopefully) notice that I'm thoughtful, friendly, and intelligent. I'll let you be the judge of that, though!

Music: So, this section is where I've seen people list a whole bunch of bands and stuff, but I'm not super knowledgeable about music (especially newer stuff), so please suggest some music/bands for me and I'll check them out! Games: Disgaea, Sonic, Castlevania, Shining Force, Suikoden, Ace Attrney, 999, RPGs, Action/Adventure games, Visual Novels, Puzzles, Board Games, Trivia games...

Food: Steak, Wings, Pork (basically anything Ron Swanson would like!), Salad, Curry, Tacos... really, I like most foods, and I like cooking/baking and trying new recipes!

1. Food/Water/Air/etc. - because one has to be a realist sometimes.

2. Family - I know it's cliché, but honestly I don't think I could live without the love, friendship, and support of my family. Even though they're miles away, I stay in touch with my family members and enjoy the contact.

3. Computer/Internet - besides being unemployed without it, I have really grown accustomed to having all the world's information at my fingertips, and being able to access any form of entertainment instantly. It would be a difficult transition to start living without.

4. Love - because love is all you need.

5. Companionship - similar to love, but distinct; I need to have connections with people based on mutual interests and whatnot. What I want most of all is to find someone to love who is also a companion and friend -- a true soul mate, I suppose.

6. Curiosity/Imagination/etc. - I don't know why my last three items are intangible concepts. Curious...

Really, anything and everything. I did mention above that one of the six things I can't live without is my sense of curiosity. When I'm alone with my thoughts, they tend to wander to any random topic that pops into my head. If I have Internet access and a thought or question that can easily be looked up, I try to look up an answer or seek out more information, but in other situations, I do enjoy spending time musing over my own thoughts. I think, though, that it would be fun to have someone with whom to share my thoughts and ideas and perhaps turn them into an intellectual (or not, depending on the topic) discussion.

Honestly, I don't know what the point of this question was, and I hope I've answered it satisfactorily. I guess I could say I spend a lot of time thinking about the future, but I don't really. While I have some aspirations that I think over, more often than not, I try to live in the present.

...doing something, I guess? I'm writing this on a Friday night. The Friday night prior to this I went to dinner and hung out with friends from work. I don't really have a "typical" Friday... I'm as likely to do something with people as spend a quiet evening at home gaming, watching TV, or reading. Actually, I guess I tend towards the latter, but I'm certainly not adverse to getting out and doing fun things, especially if I have a companion with whom to enjoy them!
