Truth be told I am in fact looking for a hook-up... a hook-up that will last for the next 50 years or so. Ya know white picket fences and whatnot? Little people running around that look like me and maybe you??
Stuff I like:
Hmmm... Interesting people that were always smart and aware... that didn't have to wait to become an 'adult' to start thinking about things. People that aren't zombies. people that don't expect their lives to be served to them in a DVD case or a microwave dinner. people that aren't standard and bland. people that aren't lazy. people that are creative. people that realize that the USA is not the only country in the world. people.
Okay, more on target. I do like lots of movies, anything from Hollywood to strange indie flicks that aren't quite entertaining, but aren't quite bad. I play guitar and sing and rock out and will do so for the rest of my life. I'm a classically trained musician. I graduated from an Ivy League, so I'm smart, but I'm more rock show or art gallery than country club, but not intimidated by either and or.
more cut and paste from my old my space profile (recycle, reuse, reduce your stuff):
guitar, economics, politics, poetry, literature that reads smooth and doesn't drip slow[ly] like molasses in january. music that is music and not just a catchy tune. Beautiful women who think and act and take responsibility for themselves and will strive to avoid co-depence and apathy. I prefer male friends who don't need to cry to be sensitive and are not too much competition for me for the girls i chase after... (at least i'm honest)
i like variety. i like to travel and be the foreigner, perhaps because sometimes one feels like they do not belong. i like cracking the top of my creme brulée. i like punching holes in leaves with a hole punch. i like emptying out my toolbox, cleaning it, and loading it back up again. i like... (the clever people probably also realize that I like the movie -Amélie- ;-)
The job did not work out so well. Somewhere along the way I survived near fatal pneumonia. That’s a longer story. So, I decided to return to the U.S..
I have returned to what I know and can depend on and recently passed the Oct. 2013 Florida State General Contractor’s exam. So, now I'm a licensed G.C.. My father, brother, and like 3 generations back of my family all build/built houses.
Now I build large scale commercial projects for a big whig construction company. Think multi-story apartment buildings and gated communities and a little piece of the american dream for the people who live there.
It is nice to be able to depend on that income while I continue to pursue my various endeavors.
Just a disclaimer: I'm not wealthy yet. I have a nice car and a modest apartment. Rather than buy a beamer I bought an Ivy League education. Rather than buy a condo I bought 5 years abroad. I make decent money now and am on an upswing, but if you're looking for a guy to drop 200 dollars on a dinner on Friday night... then please look elsewhere. If I marry a girl that makes as much as I do, then we are upper class. Part of being a feminist is that we both have to kick in to the family fund.
What do you do?
Pump Up the Volume, The Battle of Mexico City (Rage Against the Machine live in la Ciudad de México D.F.), Mystic River, Stir of Echoes, The Big Lebowski, The Stand, The Royal Tenenbaums, Children of Men, I am Legend, Doomsday, Rushmore...
I don't watch television. I watch DVD's and that's it. (Though I suppose if I watch a season of TV show I suppose that makes me a hypocrit... hmmm... As Doc Holiday's character in the flick -Tombstone- said, "the depth of my hypocrisy only goes so far. ;)
Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (Robert Persig), The Outsiders (S.E. Hinton), 'The Stand' & 'The Dead Zone' (Stephen King), Calculus (Stewart), Micro-Megas (Voltaire en francais s.v.p. it's trippier in French. Really screws with your head.), Odas elementales por Pablo Neruda
Anything healthy with a decent taste to it... ;) I suppose it all depends on what is available.
If I meet the love of my life via cupid... well then okay, but I'm not gonna jump into a full blown marriage type relationship after a few dates. People put way too much pressure on this whole dating thing. Don't ya think?
