My self-summary
God and the people I love mean more to me than anything else. Ultimately, they are all I really care about. Love is the motivating force behind everything I do. (I hope so, anyway.) Some lesser passions: surfing, making music, piano technology, international travel, nature, silence. I would describe my personality as introverted, conscientious, open-minded, peaceful, logical, and contemplative. I am deeply spiritual. My friends say that I'm creative and also very respectful. (They also say that I have a great sense of humor.) I spent my 20s living in four different states: California, Oregon, Washington, D.C., and Colorado. I enjoyed the experience, and am happy to be back in Orange County permanently, near my family. For work, I am a church organist and piano tuner. Fun stuff.

The most important things that I'm looking for in another person are chemistry, a spiritual connection, shared life vision, and a bright mind. I would like a partner with whom I can share this spiritual journey, and grow closer to God together. Having some shared interests is important too (music performance or surfing maybe?). I am looking for a deep friendship that can hopefully develop into something more.

In my free time:
I usually go surfing with my dad on my day off, if the weather is good. Otherwise, I really enjoy quiet time at home. I constantly crave being surrounded by nature and silence, and both of these things refresh my soul like nothing else can. For extended leisure time, I love international travel, and go to a different country every year. I also enjoy watching movies and TV, catching up with friends online, reading spiritual books, and generally being quiet. I exercise every day. Anything outdoors is nice....except running. I don't like running.
What I’m doing with my life
Doing my best and trying to do everything with love. The purpose of my life is to learn how to love better, so that's what I'm doing.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't talk very much. (I'm not shy; I'd just rather listen.) I do enjoy having an equal exchange in deep, meaningful conversations; the mundane is where I lose interest. On a topic I really enjoy, I find that I can have a lot to say. When I do begin to talk, people say that they like my smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: 60s, Elton John, J. S. Bach, Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, John Denver, Ray Charles, David Bowie, U2, Mary Chapin Carpenter
TV: all of the Star Trek series, Doctor Who, Wonder Years, Kyle XY, Red Dwarf, Mork and Mindy, Merlin, Legend of the Seeker, That '70s Show
The six things I could never do without
God. God is love.
Family. There's nothing like the love of family.
Friends. They can be like family.
Being in love. What is more enjoyable?
Silence. I relax and re-energize in silence.
The beauty of nature. The city wears me down.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm going to do next.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home with some Netflix and a beer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
A little more about my spirituality:
I don't like that little "Religion" box where we have to pick a vague label that can mean a hundred different things. A better description than what's in my "Religion" box is that I am on a never-ending, lifelong quest for a closer relationship with God and a more profound understanding of the truth. I don't like religious labels because they cause people to assume many things. That being said, when I have to pick one, I call myself "Catholic"...or "dissenting Catholic," which is more accurate...or just plain "Christian" because that's true too! I don't completely identify with Catholicism, but it is a part of who I am...just a part; I could equally identify as "spiritual but not religious," depending on how it is defined. I am drawn to the contemplative and mystical aspects of Catholicism, while I am turned off by the conservatism, male-dominated hierarchy, and focus on rule-following. Life is all about loving each other; in doing so, we love God. Just my two cents...
