My self-summary
I've been described as adorkable. I'm someone that is quick to laugh and slow to anger. I believe in love, affection, truth, and the American way. I enjoy going to the movies, cooking for friends, and playing board games. I can make a great fire on a cold mountain night as well as slay a few dragons in a video game.

I love to invite friends over for an impromptu night of laughter and games, or hang out in my pjs on the couch with just the radio or tv on for background noise as I tap away on my computer or snuggle with someone special on the couch.

I'm looking for someone who can be spontaneous but reliable, isn't intimidated by a spirited woman who has lived a little, and is comfortable enough to try new things once in a while. I'm a sucker for teddy bear types who can make me laugh.
What I’m doing with my life
I make my living by matching up good jobs with great people. It's always challenging - and always interesting - but my happiest moments are when I can tell someone, "YOU GOT THE JOB!" My company allows me to give back to the community through high school programs and free job seeker workshops.

I also volunteer with the Animal Adoption League as a foster home for rescued dogs (one at a time). This past year I was able to help 6 dogs find new homes. I've loved each one, and am always happy to see them adopted in to a loving environment. So "must love dogs" is kind of a reality for any guy I date.

I'm the organizer of a local group called The Charlotte Geeks. We get together 3-4 times a month for Geek Meets - it's always a fun way to spend a few hours. It's also allowed me to explore a lot of what the city has to offer.

I love living in Charlotte and see myself living here for quite a while. I've got some great friends, a cute place to call my own, and a decent paycheck. Now I just need a someone to share the adventures with me!
I’m really good at
I'm really good at laughing and try to do it every chance I get.
I love making others feel comfortable, and I think the world needs more hugs so I try to give them out as often as I can.

I can be very creative when needed, and am often good at figuring out MacGyver-like solutions in stressful situations.

My nickname is The Diplomat, because I don't think it's necessary to yell and scream to get your way - sometimes you just need to listen to both sides of the situation and figure out the most realistic solution.
The first things people usually notice about me
A lot of people tend to comment on my eyes. They change shades of blue/green depending on what I'm wearing.

I've been told that my pictures don't do me justice - that I'm cuter in person. But that should be a good thing - right? I think personality doesn't always translate on screen.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
I've recently read: The Hunger Games, The Forest of Hands & Teeth, The Dead Tossed Waves, I Am Number 4. Past authors I've enjoyed have included John Grisham, Lawrence Saunders, Alistair MacLean, Sophie Kinsella, CeCelia Ahern, Fannie Flagg, Agatha Christie, Ann B. Ross and Jonathan Kellerman.

Movies:
The Avengers, Iron Man, Roadhouse, Empire Games, Auntie Mame, White Christmas, Sister Act, Blazing Saddles, LOTR, Star Trek, The Hobbitt, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Serenity, Star Trek (the originals and the reboot) and Enemy of the State. I usually try to watch most of the Oscar Nominees as well - and am always looking for a movie buddy.

Shows:
Doctor Who, Chopped, Warehouse 13, American Pickers, Storage Wars, Mythbusters, Misfits, Firefly, Eureka, Battlestar Galactica, Wonder Woman, Big Bang Theory, Friends, NCIS, Law & Order, Burn Notice, Royal Pains and some reality shows that are mostly guilty pleasures that I watch in secret and deny in public.

Music:
Mikey Mason, Billy Joel, Eva Cassidy, Aerosmith, Metallica, Bobby McFerrin, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Opera, Rap (yes, rap - mostly old school), Hip Hop, R&B, 80s, 70s, 50s, 60s, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Gospel - the only thing that drives me crazy is some of the crazy new stuff these whippersnappers call pop - it is so repetitive and nonsensical it makes me feel like an old fool.

Food:
I'm gluten-free, but I love trying new foods that I can eat: sushi, chinese, steak, all kinds of cuisines and ethnic wonders. I love trying recipes at home too.
The six things I could never do without
I could never do without love, laughter, hugs, cute shoes, chocolate, or a good man.

And for the record, I'd give up the chocolate before the shoes. Well, unless it's Godiva chocolate. Or Lindt. But then again - if it was a really, really cute pair of shoes . . .but y'know - usually in my house I just walk around barefoot and nibble on a square so then I'd want the chocolate. . .but hmm - shoes . . .
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe, and the people in it.
Planning my next adventure - whether it be with the Geeks, a weekend getaway, a night out with friends, or planning a mystery dinner party or a romantic rendezvous.
On a typical Friday night I am
When I'm not chilling at home, I'm generally out with friends at the movies or trying to find something fun to do in town.

When I have a partner in crime, I'm known to start off on a trip to a grocery store, and end up at the beach . . .I like to be spontaneous and not be bogged down by "let's go to the same place we always go to and do the same thing we always do and then whine that we aren't meeting anyone different or having any adventures"
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm really not a very private person - if you want to know something, just ask me. I learned a long time ago that it never helps to hide stuff.

Well, unless it's like a very deep, dark secret and revealing it would change the course of the universe and impact the lives of thousands and all the women would cry and all the children would scream and even the men would get that look on their faces. And I couldn't do that, now could I? So, if you will just look at my little Men In Black pen, I will now erase your memory and you'll never remember what I just said. Right?
