My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
The best dates, and people, are those that are unexpected. They come at you from odd angles.

A day at an amusement park, trip to a zoo, aquarium, museum, hanging out at the beach and telling each other when to turn over are all great ways to spend days. I also love live theater and, as a librarian, I naturally enjoy books. I need to get hiking again, and am starting a container garden.

I like optimistic, smart, upbeat people. Someone who likes to travel for weekends on the spur of the moment. And a sense of the absurd is a must because life is a little absurd. Appreciation of a dumb joke or pun is greatly appreciated.

Beyond that, it's hard to say what kind of person will make a good match. Maybe I'll fall for a quiet type, maybe a loud, brassy person. You have an rough idea about love, but you never really know where or when it will come.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For work, I'm a School Librarian.

For fun, I'm attempting to learn to be a better cook, and I love to eat and try restaurants. I read a lot, would love to make it to more concerts, and am a weekend traveler. Anywhere, any weekend! Lately I've been doing a lot less traveling due to family considerations.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Relaxing people in serious situations. Making things up as I go along.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Where to begin? How about with what I've read recently: "Gilead" "From the Mixed-Up Files of Ms. Basil E. Frankweiler" Sherlock Holmes, "What is the What," "St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves."

Movies: "Lawrence of Arabia" "Dark City" "Raiders of the Lost Ark" "Gattica" "Millions" "L.A. Confidential"

Music: Elton John, Ben Folds, Avett Brothers, U2, Mountain Goats, Flaming Lipps, Bowie, Fleet Foxes, Johnny Cash, Sufjan Stevens...

Food: Just about anything!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
books or some form of reading material
a good stove (can't cook yet but I'm trying!)
luggage
fish, to eat or watch
transportation - car or otherwise
friends
family (do the last two count? I would expect most can't do without those two)
