Is this where I put the witty remarks that are supposed to win you over? Well, how about that, did that one work, it takes some wit to make silly questions right? Damnit, I just did it again, and that one wasn't nearly as witty. Hmm...lemme see...pickup lines...no, those don't work...alcohol...no, no I don't think that can be transmitted through the internet... yet. Oh yes, here we go, I'll follow the instructions! Wait, I'm a guy, I don't read the instructions. This is too much work. I'll do it later.

I'm just kidding.

I'm Steve. I live in Mesa now. Pretty creative username huh? That's just how I roll. Anyway, I just bought a house here in Mesa recently, but until this point was more of a Scottsdale guy for over a decade. Proud to say my latest test results came back 92.7% douchebag free. I work for a medical billing company doing computer stuff that when asked the question "How was your day?" typically results in an answer like "Fine". It's not that it isn't exciting, it's just that it takes an hour to even begin explaining it. :) Before that, I worked for a police department and managed a movie theatre, so I consider myself pretty well-rounded experience wise, I just haven't found that one job that drives me and keeps me stimulated just yet.

In my free time, I like moonlight walks on the beach and sipping a nice chardonnay in front of the fireplace while reading the latest crime nove... Oops, sorry, that isn't me at all. I like doing what anyone likes to do I guess, get out of the house and go do things, hang around with friends, take day trips to wherever, watch movies, play video games, listen to music. I'm a terrible bowler, but when I get lucky and get a strike or two in a row will pretend that I was just "holding out". I play softball in a Phoenix league with people from work, and I love it, this is my second season doing it.

I feel that I'm getting to a point where things are really starting to come together. The economy somewhat threw a monkey wrench in what I had going on for a while (seems you hear that too much these days), but now things are very much looking up. In the near term, I would like to return to school and finish a degree as I have time. I want to start learning a musical instrument or two, as I'm very musically inclined, but up until this point it was a computer only hobby. And, I'm always on the lookout for The One of course.

I'd say what I'm best at is bringing calm to a situation and reducing the stress levels of people. I have a lot of confidence, and am a great problem solver and listener. If given the choice, I would often rather be the leader of a team than one of the followers. I'm really good at anything that requires dexterity or sheer knowledge also (trivia, etc) as I'm extremely well read.

I'm a big guy. Not necessarily around the midsection, but in general, I have a large frame and broad shoulders and am fairly tall. It is my greatest asset, I can call attention to myself and take control of a situation much easier, I never get lost in a crowd. I stay fairly active with sports and exercising, but I would never really want to be any smaller than I am, I love it.

I don't read many books anymore, not as much as I used to, online material has largely taken it's place. My favorite author is Clive Cussler, even if there isn't an ounce of truth to his books, they stimulate the mind and make you wonder "what if?".

In the last year or so, my movie watching has declined pretty drastically. I would blame it on the lack of movie quality, and a lack of someone to see them with. Before that however, there was scarcely a movie I MISSED. I'll watch almost anything and be entertained by it. Yes, I am easily amused! I can handle a girly movie if it becomes necessary, and anything with Will Farrell or Adam Sandler, I'll almost certainly see. I really like longer movies, particularly Sci-Fi, action, fantasy epics, etc.

My taste in music is pretty eclectic. I won't say the typical "I like to listen to a little of everything!" because I don't. I don't like Country. I don't like Rap. I don't like anything pop-related that makes use of an auto-tune, which includes 95% of the songs on 104.7 and 101.5. What do I like? I like Dance music, house, jazz, 80s & 90s, ambient, game soundtracks, etc. I like anything that either inspires, motivates, or relaxes.

When it comes to food, well, sometimes I'm picky. I've been around the world, lived in China/Hong Kong, been around Europe, etc. But it hasn't expanded my palate really. I don't like most seafood (or almost all sushi), or mushrooms, or anything that just seems gross to the typical American. I eat out more than I probably should, but now that I'm in the house I've started learning to cook.

Now this is where people get really creative. Reading most of these tells you a lot about a person, and often about how shallow or not they are. So i'll just say this:

As long as there's a roof over my head, air to breathe, food to eat, water to drink, I have my health, and the company is good - I'm happy.

I think about a lot of things. Things that will happen in the future, things that happened in the past.

There's never a typical Friday night. Though I can be just as happy hanging around the house as I am out doing something. I'm not much into drinking or bars more than occasionally, I'd rather do something entertaining in some fashion.
