I am a student from Slovakia and have been in Cincinnati for only three months thus far. As of yet, I haven't explored the city and the surrounding area too much, but it is likely I will be staying here for a long time, so I am looking forward to doing so.

For some strange reason my 'details' on this site are not getting updated when I try to do so. Oh well, if you want to know something, it's probably best to ask anyway.

At the moment I am in a Ph.D. program in Political Science and working only part-time as a 'research assistant'. After I finish (which will probably take a while), I will probably seek a career either as a professor or in the Slovak or European foreign service, but that is subject to change based on the circumstances at the time.

Books:

Lately, I am mostly reading journal articles for my studies. When not doing that, I am partial to non-fiction. Nevertheless, I also enjoy books like the DaVinci Code, as well as Sci Fi and fantasy books.

Movies/TV:

I like action films, documentaries, comedies, sci fi and fantasy. I am not so keen on drama and horror movies, but there are exceptions to this.

Music:

My favorite style of music is rock, but I can also appreciate good music from other styles. That said, there are some styles that I simply don't like - mostly rap and hip hop.

I am particularly partial to music from the 1980s plus minus a few years, but I do enjoy good songs from other eras too. Examples of bands/singers I like: Belinda Carlisle, Bon Jovi, Bonnie Tyler, Cranberries, Deep Purple, Duran Duran, Heart, Nightwish, Scorpions, Within Temptation and many more of course.

Food:

I like most types of cuisine. Chinese, Thai and Indian are particularly delicious and so is Mexican. Italian is great too, but who doesn't like Italian food? I have never met anybody who doesn't.

The future direction of my life - career, family and so on.

I also spend a lot of time thinking about weird abstract/theoretical things - I can't help it! I am a social and natural science buff, so I spend a good amount of time thinking about strange questions in fields ranging from demographics to physics.
